Alcantara/Leather Heated seats Swap into FRS Base
Hi guys!
Today I want to share my experience with Swapping heated Alcantara seats from Limited BRZ into FRS Base or Premium BRZ and how to connect them. First of all I strongly recommend, all wiring jobs were done by professional electrician. (My Friend, who helped me, is a professional electrician, he helped me with all wiring and soldering work, I did wrapping, cleaning, removal and installation work) ACHTUNG! Everything you do is YOUR own Risk and decision! Parts you need: - Heated Alcantara/Leather seats - Limited BRZ / FRS RS1.0 console Look #1 (Part Number: 92113CA130 MSRP $51.97 Online Price $39.58) - Seat heat switch Right Look #21 (Part Number: 83075FA001 MSRP $50.12 Online Price $38.17) - Seat heat switch Left Look #21 (Part Number: 83075FA011 MSRP $62.97 Online Price $47.95) - Wires from seats with connectors (which connects to the seats) - Wires from Buttons #21 with connectors. - Two wires around 2m length with Subaru pins. - 3...4 meters of wire tube and tape - Vacuum cleaner Direction: 1) Disconnect battery 2) Remove old seats 3) Remove old console Removal console.pdf 4) Remove Switch bezel #13 and side covers #16,17 5) Connect two wires about 2m length with Subaru pins to appropriate contacts in harness connector of INTEG UNIT AY USS (part number 88281CA300). As you can see from pics, even if Base trim doesn't have a heated seats, there are power contacts with fuses from the factory for heated seats needs. We need just connect our power wires with pins to proper contacts in harness connector and we will have proper, designed from the factory power supply for new seats. look wiring diagrams Wiring diagrams.zip It's can be much easier when you remove module. 6) Stretch out those wires under the dash panel to place under the console where located control buttons and solder them to the wires with connectors for buttons. 7) As you can see from the wiring diagrams, you also have to solder ground cable (my Friend connect it to the car frame). 8) Next step is to connect wires with connectors from the seats to the buttons, wrap them into wire tube and stretch out under carpet to the seats place. 9) Wrap into wire tube all rest of wires and neatly arrange them near other stock wire harness which placed from the factory in FRS Base with MT on the right from transmission. 10) Clean all mess after yourself with vacuum cleaner. 11) Install new console Installation console.pdf 12) Install Switch bezel #13 and side covers #16,17 13) Install new seats and connect properly all connectors. 14) Connect battery Enjoy every single minute during the cold time your swap

Do you have any suggestion if I only need to swap seat to base FRS but do not need the heating funciton? Iv heard that the BRZ limited seats are not direct fit. There will be sensor issue?

What do you mean? It's exactly the same connectors on both seats (in my case i put 2012 BRZ seats into 2015 Base FRS) and it was simply plug and play, with no any airbag lights.

Reviving this slightly old thread.
While I’m here, I have the OEM brz switches but not the wiring connectors for them, anyone know the part numbers for those? Last edited by spitsnaugle; 12-29-2018 at 09:28 PM. |
