I'd warn against going too big on the front bar, but I've found that any size can work if you adjust your driving style.

I broke the rule of changing lots of things before the biggest annual event, and my car felt great but was a little unfamiliar to me because of the changes I made. I think I'm now in the boat of getting the car how it should be, then make incremental shock, bar setting, tire pressure changes to get where it suits me best. I just need to find the money for the fancy shocks.
Yeah that's why I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet. From what I have read the 17 went with a stiffer front bar and softer rear bar over the previous years to get the car less oversteer-y. But i'm also the kind of driver who likes a little bit of predictable oversteer, the way the car rotates right now really fits my driving style. And the car is freaking fast right now too, RAW and PAX 2nd at last event behind a prepped STR S2000. So I'm looking at adjustable front bar that isnt to much stiffer over stock for now.

I'm going to stick with the TRD setup for a bit because the only understeer I was noticing since the bar switch was on corner entry. Mid-corner and exit seemed good and slaloms seem quite a bit better with the TRD stuff. I'll be chasing NDs for another year.

Also hope everything was okay for you guys in FL!
And for a third way, I never went to the TRD bars, just stuck with the whiteline 20. On hard, it did bring some understeer, and then I opened up the alignment (~3/32 out front, zero rear) a bit to get some low-speed rotation and better turn-in. So there's a few ways to skin the cat.

Did make for just a pinch of twitchiness, but still totally doable as an 15-18k/year DD. You just have to remember that for some situations, everything will be fine (only?) if you keep your foot planted so the weight stays back there.

Good to see you're still fighting the fight, though.

Is anybody running staggered pads for these in autocross?

I know without the pedal dance (with EBD on) it probably wouldn't make much of a difference, because the computer would just adjust to make braking forces the same. But with the pedal dance, it locks the brake bias in. And unless I'm mistaken it's too rear heavy. Last event I did the 5 morning runs with the pedal dance, and the 5 afternoon runs with just the 3 second hold. The car responded a lot better to non-straight-line braking with the pedal dance, but I did notice that straight line braking seemed worse with the pedal dance.

Could running a grippier front pad balance the brakes a bit better in pedal dance mode? Say stock rears, AX6 in the front?

The TRD parts are still legal.

It's just a relaxation of the street restrictions so there isn't any ambiguity in which parts are "port installed" vs. "dealer installed". The mention of the TRD stuff was just to state that relaxing the rule allows them to now make specific classifications based upon parts packages.

Lame and potentially obvious question, but would the cusco pedal cover (extends gas pedal closer the brake) be legal for use in stock classing?

Figured I'd ask before wasting my money. Removing and installing every week seems like a chore if barred.

Yes. 13.2.A allows for comfort and convenience parts that add no performance to the vehicle.

Eric is correct. Pedal modifications over the years, even to make it easier for short people, have never been legal.

Learned something new today then. I guess the if it doesn't say you can, then it's not allowed still holds true. Seems silly though.

Would swapping to the 4/2pots front and rear bump me out of C stock?
