If it's for the average car, I maintain that that mileage figure (55,000 miles) for an FR-S is above average, for an FR-S ....... therefore "quite a few".

In addition, my 2013 FR-S has 25,000 miles ........ so, if I average 25,000 miles and 55,000 miles, I get 40,000 miles. Therefore, 55,000 miles is above that average ....... thus "quite a few".

See there ...........

humfrz is looking for things to do ....... except go to Costco to buy toilet paper ....... which will hopefully be the low point of my day ......

PS - why does the toddler come to ME pulling on her diaper (which means it's a poopy one) ....... when her ma-ma is sitting right over there .......
True the FRS tends to not be driven as much as most cars but it's still a well made car. It should be capable of handling your typical average mileage just as well as any other car. He could probably find a lower mileage car but also with a higher price. I wouldn't run away from an FRS just because it has 55k on it. I tend to keep cars forever. 230k miles is typical for me. So 55k is like a newborn to me.

Edit: Just want to clarify that I am not suggesting he buy THIS car. I was just referring to the part about the miles.

I am always more concerned about how the miles were put on a car as opposed to how many there are. Buying a car with 100K in well maintained highway miles is sometimes a better bet that one with 50K stop and go commuter miles and a bad maintenance record. Add miles from track time or heavy modification into any equation and you are introducing a whole new element of possible wear and tear.

Basically, I agree with you.

I was hooking up the mileage to his statement "The car seems to have been modified quite a bit". So, IF the mods were power mods, 55,000 miles may have induced a more that usual stress on the engine/drivetrain.

My 2013 Series 10 is at 57K now. That's mostly highway miles. 5K oil change intervals. KBB tells me I might be lucky to get $10K at trade-in... That's with dual zone. Keyless. Euro lights. HIDs, stock spoiler, 'special' paint.

I'd say wait 1 more year and save some extra $$$ for a 2014/2015 with around the same mileage, with a clean title and without the mods, of course.

Keep your eyes open, and I'm positive you'll find a better deal than that in the next few months.

Bought My 16 fr-s in August of 15', and just hit 50k, but I bought it to drive it, and I drive it hard. Still so much fun . I don't know how people keep so low mileage on cars...
