A tad bit jealous of all the successful deposits

I'm having difficulty locating an available unit in my color from the dealers I've contacted...

What are the first things you guys are planning on modify on your cars?

I am thinking about I/H/E/Tune.

Intake: Grimmspeed CAI - $330.00
Reason: To get rid of the sound generator and clean up the engine bay.

Header: JDL UEL (Black Finish) - $849.00
Reason: I want the boxer rumble and a quality header with good welds that will hold up over time.

Over Pipe / Front Pipe: JDL OP/FP Combo (Dual Resonated) - $849.00
Reason: I want to use the same company as my header. There is no emission testing in the state that I live in so I do not need a catalytic converter. However, I do not want any raspy'ness so I am opting for dual resonators in the front pipe.

Exhaust: FT-86 SpeedFactory V1 (Resonated) - $880.00
Reason: I've watched many YouTube videos and customer testimonials and believe this will be a quality exhaust to use with the rest of my parts. I am getting it resonated so it will reduce any chance of raspy'ness.

Tuning: Openflash Tuning - $499.00
Reason: Easy tuning solution with good Off-The-Shelf Tunes.

Total will come out to around $3,400.

Do you think this is a good setup? Will I have any issues with fitment with a 2018 model year? Do you think 3 resonators are overkill for raspy'ness?

That’s why I ended up going for my third color choice. If you take color out of the equation, it gets much easier.

@yurikaze Yeah, I think you're right. I would be just as happy with blue. Just not a fan of black because all of the black accents blend in instead of standing out.

I've been calling around to figure if I want to get one. Dealer here in town quoted me 37,995 + ttl. Almost seems like 10k more. Seems like everyone is pretty content with their order though. Still trying to justify putting down a deposit before they're all gone.

Shop around. The demand is not that high. Get it no higher than MSRP then TTL.

Ohhh, I'm hearing you. Even for me to spend $4k for the RS2 over a base FRS was a cost justification I had to make. $1600 wheels + HID + exterior parts ( lip, spoiler) + interior changes and push button start. How to configure a price on the alcantera + leather + heated seats?! Looking back almost 2 yrs now, was the extra $4k worth it? Sure was, especially if I'm going to keep and enjoy the car 10+ years.

The PP BRZ, at about $28- 28.5k is very reasonable, about $3500 over a premium price. The tS is about $9-10k over a PP price. , or about 30% of the total cost of a new PP BRZ.... wow. To put things into perspective

Your math is wrong, my dude.

2018 Subaru BRZ Limited
MSRP: $28,445
Destination & Delivery: $860
Sub-Total: $29,305
Add Performance Pack: $1,195
Total: $30,500

2018 Subaru BRZ tS
MSRP: $33,495
Destination & Delivery: $860
Total: $34,355

Price Difference: $3,855
Percent Increase: 12.6% Increase

These prices are before tax, tag, title and/or any dealer fees. Keep in mind that you cannot get the performance pack on the base BRZ Premium.

I'm talking actual / realistic negotiated prices, that other forum members have realized in 2017 on PP BRZ purchases. Low to mid $28k on a PP was possible in 2017. Now that it's 2018 , it may be closer to $29k …. right about.

Check some links on here, research only costs time :

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=119291

Yes, there are some slight regional pricing differences , but that thread will give you a good idea.

As for the '18 tS pricing, really it's too early to know exactly how much to expect to pay. The 1-2 forum members have put a down deposit on one, but sounds like $34-36k …. roughly.

Still, its about a $7k difference between PP and tS ….. roughly (could be closer to $7500 after taxes). All rough estimates, I'm not a Subaru sales rep.

The difference seems large, but if you want to have high quality (STI) parts then you have to pay.
Just think that only the rear dry carbon wing costs in the range of $2k.

But besides the wing, I dont see anything else that would justify the price really. If they threw in those JDM Recaros though......

Hmmm I see you also get larger lightweight wheels, high performance tires, ground effects kit, just to start with.
