Brushless, good. But what are they drying it with? If it's not micro fiber cloth, the car will not look new for that long

That's cause you have an asphalt! I think that color is one of the easiest colors to keep clean. The black and white are obviously the hardest to keep clean. I've washed it and waxed it once so far but it gets dirty fast. I plan on doing a wash every 2-3 weeks.

How do you dust the exterior of your car? do you just use a regular house duster?

Probably once every two-three weeks using Meguiar's Ultimate Quik Detailer. Full blown wash and wax job once/year after the May rains. I only plan to put 4000-5000 miles/year on the car. I got Silver so I wouldn't have to wash it every week or drive around with an embarrassing amount of grime (as I did with my black Si).

So far about once a week for me. Opticoat works well for me since I no longer need to wax it now.

With the proper wash techniques you shouldnt get any swirls.

For the first 6 weeks of ownership I was doing a full wash at least twice a week.

I havent washed the car in a week because we havent gotten any rain nor do I have bird droppings on it. I typically wash the car after it rains so I dont get hard water spots. Bird crap can etch paint too, so I wash it the same day that happens. If theres no way I can wash it, then I QD it.

Once a week with hydro wax as you dry. Occasionally use a spray wax to maintain original wax surface.

Don't worry about the Subaru paint issue guys, me and mike has extensively worked with these cars and even though it's manufactured in Japan the paint quality is solid. They put quite a bit of paint on this car...in other news I saw my first frs today with an actually factory paint defect. It seems some moisture was trapped under the bumper, it bubbled up and popped when my polisher touched it.

Just washed it today! Did a full wash, polish and wax. I usually wash my car once every 2-3 weeks. Its strangly therapeutic to do it myself.

I am trying to get to it twice a week but we are in afternoon thunderstorm season in Calgary so every night around 6 it gets hit with a half inch of rain. Its disappointing but I have put a good coat of wax on it so it just beads up and I hit it with the drying towel. Now if only I could mount a system that shoots the birds that poop on it I might get a few more days out of a wash.
