I am going to wash it myself a good complete detail 1 a month. So Wash, wax, detail etc... Then one in between I will do a quick wash only. Thankfully my apartment complex has a washing station area

![]() My understanding is that surface contaminates cause the swirls. Out of curiosity does anyone know if Toyota or Subaru painted these cars? If it's Subaru, paint swirls are the last thing you need to worry about your paint is going to flake off anyway http://www.3gwrx.com/forum/index.php/topic,988.0.html |

It's probably time to wash the car of the contaminants built up, nearly 2 months of driving! Besides you might think it looks good but surely a good wash and detail can make it look even better. Amongst other benefits

I have had my car a whole week and washed it twice
The first time was when I applied the Opti-Coat and that was a long hot afternoon of washing, claying, polishing, etc.. The second time was when I got back from a 300 mile road trip and the car was plastered with bugs. The second time the wash went much much quicker; a simple rinse and wipe down with soapy micro fiber mitt and then rinse again. Love that opti-coat stuff! I'll probably wash my truck today, it has been neglected... |

Friday evening or Saturday morning commercial foam set, then spray clean followed with Optimal detailer. Opti-Coat 2.0 shield works for me.

-Proper wash about once a week
-Quick Detail twice a week -Wax...has been done once on 06/02 and I might want to do this again soon I never use the drive through car washes because they are horrible in my area, I might as well just give someone $5-10 and let them spit on my car. Honestly I'm too anal to use any automated car wash no matter how good it might claim to be. I really prefer the coin operated ones to just get the dust off my car, dry her down, then quick detail.

When I washed it the first time I was surprised how much dirt had accumulated on it that you couldn't see. As I washed it (I have an old school "spray wand" self service car wash near me that just reopened) I was amazed at the dirt rolling off of it that you couldn't see. Now, I try to do it at least every other week. Only takes about 15 minutes at the wash to give it a good bath. We have an excellent mobile detailer that comes to work and I'll have him do a detail on it about every other month. I really need to get a clear bra and/or OptiGuard done on it though. Olivia is a DD and I know the rock chips are coming!! |
