So just to get a confirmation. the 255's should fit well once I have coils? Only reason I'm set on this size tire is bc ambit has a pretty good wheel and tire package. and for the wheels I want this is one of the size options. 265 is too big for what I would like and the 245 is a /40 and one of you already confirmed that would be too tall

Here are the other options below-
245/40/R18
255/35/R18
265/35/R18

Coils of choice - Tein Flex Z
Planned Setup

Wheel
Ambit RE02
18x9.5 +38

Tire
Federal RS-R 255/35/R18

Please forgive me, my math skills are rubbish. I’m running 17x8 +45 wheels with stock suspension. If I run a 12mm spacer, would I be “flush” or am I going to poke too much?

The phrase "Poke too much" is totally subjective. A 17x8 +45 with a 12mm spacer is essentially a +33 offset wheel. An 8" wide +35 offset wheel is generally considered flush. So your wheel will stick out 2mm more.

Look at post #7. He has stock suspension with an 8" wide wheel and a+32 offset. Looks good to me. if you add camber bolts, it will help with the poke. they are very inexpensive.

Tried out a set of 17x9 +45 rpf1s, and on full lock they hit the outer tie rod. No big suprise there its been documented a bunch on these forums, however 18x9.5 +38 seems to be a pretty popular size but only gives an extra 1mm more inner clearance. I have heard of people with the 17x9 +45 rpf1s running 3mm spacers and still not having enough clearance from the tie rod, so was curious why or how the 18x9.5 +38 didnt have any issues? Just the extra inch in diameter somehow move the wheel further away?

Hey guys I'm new here and a proud 86 owner Just installed an Invidia N1 exhaust last week and now I'm looking into getting some wheels and tires and I'm here for some advice.

Will this fit on STOCK suspensions(I'll get aftermarket suspensions later) without any issues?

18X8.75 +36 offset all around
225/40/18 tires all around

I'm trying to keep my budget under 1k for the wheels and tires. I already have my eyes on a few options. Any recommendations or feedback are greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Shape of the barrel is different and different wheels mean different results.. Also every car is slightly different. 2-3mm cleaeance isn't exactly a lot. Some people have problems, some don't. I personally would just get spacers or lower offset.

You are good. Suggestion to get decent tires and not cheapies.

Hey guys,

Just ordered a new set of wheels for my BRZ. Konig Ultraform 17x9 +40

Will I have any clearance issues with ~1" Lowering Springs, 5mm Spacers all around and 245/40/17 tires?

I was also thinking of adding the Subaru Crash bolts in the front for Camber adjustment

17x9 +40 with a 5mm space is essentially a +35 offset wheel. You shouldn't have strut clearance issues, and with camber bolts, you also shouldn't poke that much either. What tires are you getting?

The is is a test-fit of the same wheel (konig ultraform) and offset but 8" wide. I already have about 1.5 degrees of negative camber using Toyota crash bolts.

Oh sorry, I saw a picture attached to your comment on the Tapatalk app that showed much more aggressive wheels than the ones I was fitting, that's why I asked.

As for tires, I'm probably gonna go with Yokohama S.Drives or BFG G-Force Sport Comp-2's. Whichever one gives me the better rebate when Spring time rolls around

That picture is immensely helpful, thank you
