My FR-S is not cheap to insure...I also have a 2007 Mustang, and an '04 Chev Tracker (my beater). The FR-S costs just about as much as the other two combined.

Old thread I know. I used to have a GS-R and in 1997 I was paying $250 per month on it and I was told the same thing about thieves. That was back when everyone wanted a B18C for their Civic swaps.

I am paying $780 for 6 months for my FR-S with StateFarm. I really need to shop around because they are raping me on all my cars.

Your increase is about what my total 6 month is all together! Maybe your credit took a dive recently. That will affect it bigly.

Nationwide ins

96’ Jeep Cherokee liability coverage only

2002 Subaru WRX full coverage

Monthly payments of $135-

Removed WRX, added 2016 BRZ caused the monthly premium to go up by $80-

I’m 40 with a good driving record, no accidents or tickets

Nationwide is not known for being the most inexpensive insurance company but I’ve had good service by them. I’m thinking that because this is a small two door sports car, vs a four door sedan, as well the added technology and expense to repair newer cars has been taken into account.

Hay I just bought a $28k car, I think I can handle the extra $80- per month increase.

Compare a 2016 WRX to a 2016 BRZ, the insurance is very similar if not higher on the WRX is most cases. This is for Canada though

Probably the same too in the US.

So in 2002 as a young kid in the USAF I bought a WRX, premium gas was Just approaching $2.00/gal and my insurance just for my new WRX was $200/month. Just a compression...
