I am the same way. I wanted a small, lightweight RWD car. Miata and S2000 were the only other cars I considered, but I prefer a hardtop so BRZ/FRS were the only choices for me. I think the 370Z is a great car, but it should be compared with the Mustang and GC, not the BRZ and FRS. They are two different types of cars that will appeal to different types of people. Price never really entered the equation.

Understand to a certain degree I guess. I just feel like the value prop wouldn't be there for the BRZ. |

Define value prop? Choosing a car is more of an emotional decision than a logical one. I would say the Mustang GT is the best value right now if that's all you care about, but that doesn't make it the right choice for everyone. It's hard to put a number on how fun a car is, everyone will have their own definition. Personally, I am not a fan of the heavy muscle car category, so I wouldn't buy one, even if it was ridiculously cheap (like the outgoing Mustang GT is right now). I couldn't care less about value prop, I would rather buy the car that I enjoy the most than the one that is the best value.

Let's get really scientific...and define it in terms of smiles-per-dollar ![]() I like the BRZ, I guess it just doesn't speak to me the way something like an S2K does. |

Thankfully, cars are not made equal.

Well, I made it through the first and second half of that thread... how exhausting! Poor guys are too proud to actually go out and drive one; their opinions might actually matter if they had some knowledge to back it up. But no, they'd rather talk shit about something they know nothing about. Love people like that! I was gonna register and post, but it's just too exhausting. Ahh, teh internetz...
I bet if this car were built by Nissan as a 240SX/Silvia replacement they might judge less harshly, that's the ironic part!
