I might as well pile on.

This car is perfect for DD'ing for me.

No kids to carry, 20+ mile commute (one-way) in mixed highway and city driving. Good mileage. Can even hold two sets of golf clubs if I want to road trip with a buddy.

Oh, and I can also take it to the track. Why buy two cars when one will suffice?

Hence the ST and SI are way MORE THAN SOME NEED. THE BRZ/FRS/86 IS A Fun car yet practical to handle the chores of daily use cases. I don't see why everyone is NOT defending the BRZ as a DD. You can DD whatever you want. But your choice isn't necessarily the right choice for OP or the majority.

FIFY from the other perspective!
You can't say our choice is wrong while supporting that your choice is appropriate for the majority.

I am going to say again. DDing a BRZ is not in the wrong. It may work for YOUR
scenario. But that scenario may not transfer to majority of motorist.
Having the BRZ as your only car to do everything I believe is a poor choice for most. The key here is understanding that not everyone is a single person between ages of 19-35. For that demographic the BRZ may be a fine daily driver. But majority of people won't find the BRZ practical enough for their needs.

If you regularly drive more then 1 person around(large portion of people):
a four door vehicle is superior

If you regularly pick up medium to large items:
BRZ cargo volume: 6.9 ft³
Fiesta ST cargo volume: 10.1 to 14.9 ft³, 25.4 ft³ with seat area

Torque dip: the torque dip in the middle of the rev range is not good for daily driving maneuvers. you may be required to shift to get the power you want.
Other turbo power plants wont require this you can just put your foot down.

Just because another user DDs their BRZ doesn't prove its a great DD. This is a sample bias of the forums. I am happy that many users here are able to have the BRZ as their only car and for DD purposes. But, don't think your decision is right beyond your scenario. Look at the facts of the vehicles you will see other cars just offer way more practicality and similar performance.

You think it is bad that you might need to shift instead of just putting your foot down? That is exactly what I want! If I need to carry cargo that does not fit in my FR-S once in a blue moon, we have a minivan for that purpose. I would never drive a Fiesta, it is neither a sports car nor a minivan. It is just a lose-lose option. Plus my Odyssey looks better than that.

You are right in only one point. Our cars are not DD for everyone. And nobody claimed that. Why are you underlining the obvious? This is FT86 forum, many of us DD our cars. I do that too and I am loving it including the shifting part.

You're bringing up that torque dip again... Why do you need torque in traffic, especially in a lightweight car lmao. If you're driving in a way where you need torque in traffic, you're going to get someone hurt and need to get your license reevaluated.

And you contradict yourself, why say that "DDing a BRZ is not in the wrong", but earlier you questioned why anyone would DD a BRZ as if it was some kind of unfathomable act of independence.. JOIN THE SHEEP OF MAJORITY OR DIE

Why even say this if you are going to go back on it now, if someone needed the car to be more practical, don't you think they would be shopping or a car that was??

No one said the BRZ is the worlds greatest daily driver, but you questioned the fact that people would even think to. It makes no sense that you'd question that when everyone has different requirements for what a daily driven car needs to be capable of, and then on top of that say that the car lacks torque for traffic... WTF is the use of torque in traffic, do I not know what traffic is anymore? Why do I need to be doing twitch maneuvers in traffic? Why is it I can drive a heavier, less hp, less torque, RWD car in traffic just fine?

BRB let me go trade in my 86 for an STi because I need AWD and nearly 300 ft-lb of torque for traffic to be able to race to red lights, cut people off and ride peoples asses while I vape.

I think this thread has been hijacked.

No it's just you that thinks your opinion seems to be very sound, yet go back on things you say and claim that high torque is a requirement for driving in traffic.

You win. I lose.
Happy?
I wish you wouldn't turn towards online bullying as a way of arguing.
