I don't have a problem with red. It's the eyelids I don't like, regardless of color. They give the car bedroom eyes, like it wants to be mounted from behind by a brodozer and take a drive shaft up the tailpipe whilst screaming, "Ay, Papi!"

The red caliper covers from the Pep Boys air freshener aisle just mark the car as owned by a poser who can't afford the real thing. At least they'll be entertaining to other 86 owners.

But it's your car, so if you like feminine bedroom eyes and poser brakes, have at it.

The problem isn't that you did some red it is that you did little bits and pieces that just look out of place for most people. Need to either do more or none. As it stands it looks like you had to replace parts with the wrong colour bought from an autowrecker.

Congratulations! Take some time to get to know the car and decide what, if anything, you'd like to change. I bought my '15 new a couple of years ago. I don't track the car and don't intend to, so most of my mods have been comfort, driveability, and safety related. Seat belt pads, a heavier shifter, a wider accelerator pedal (for heel/toeing), a master cylinder brace to firm up the pedal, led lights in strategic places, a skid plate under the air dam, good window tint covers most of them.

I don't know that I'd say the car is over-braked, but for my street use the stockers work extremely well. I see no reason to spend money solving a problem that for my use doesn't exist. At to your colour choices, do what you like. I'm personally not taken by the red, but the key is to enjoy the car. If that gives you more enjoyment, hats off.

We've had several posters lately with lets say, provocative, positions. They've set off a bit a feeding frenzy among some of my friends here. Just relax, don't take what folks say personally, it'll work out.

Don't take anything said here personally. Remember, it's the internet. That being said, people here will help out if you know how to use Google to search the forum, try to keep a open mind, and more importantly have a sense of humor/sarcasm.

Congrats on the car!

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. It's your car, do what you want. This is quite mild compared to what has been done. Enjoy the car, ignore the haters, they're just there to ruin your fun.

Congrats on your car, hope you give it the attention it deserves!

Hopefully the next spruce ups are to get rid of the red painted antenna, spoiler, eyelids, rear window "wing" and caliper covers. I know it seems like a lot but you can undo what the previous owner did, it sounds like you have some quality mods at least to start with. Wondering what titanium exhaust they left you!!

The stock calipers could be powdercoated red and would look much better, and give you an excuse to throw some nice pads in. These cars are definitely not "over braked."

Good start OP, hopefully you enjoy the vehicle. They're definitely easy to customize!

I don't care for the red, but Kids will be kids.

There is a FR-S at my work with the red caliper covers. I chuckle every time I walk by it. To each his/her own.

Congrats and welcome.

I was definitely going to go with hyper purple brake calipers (this is a new colour I am inventing right now).

Welcome and congrats on the car OP! I also must say the eyelids are umm... not the greatest looking maybe consider taking them off, of course as everyone else has said its your car and if you like it keep it the way it is. Just maybe expect a few people to give you weird looks

I don't need to beat any more dead horses here, so I'll point out something you might want to do for your car's health. If you check out the front plate in the picture here (side note, it's actually kinda hard to find a pic of a proper plate mounting via Google), you'll see that it's mounted up higher, and the bracket actually mounts it so that the upper half of the plate is basically in line with your actual bumper cover. As your plate currently sits it's blocking more than half of your grille's surface area, meaning your radiator, and possibly even the intake, aren't getting the air they need. There is an OEM plate bracket for the FR-S that is shaped to fit the nose of the car so that the plate sits up high and keeps the grille clear. The difference is that the same two holes that are bolting in the top of your plate are used to bolt in the bottom of the plate bracket so the whole thing sits up higher out of the way of the grille. In the picture I went all Crayola on, you can even see on the right side of the bracket how it has a shape contoured to match the shape of the nose.

Or, you could also get one of the relocation kits like the one from Perrin that mounts your plate to the front tow hook position on the right side of the nose, also keeping your grille clear. Either way your car will thank you for not plugging its nose.
