Are you driving an automatic? Because if you keep both hands on the wheel except when shifting, and have proper seat setup and posture, I can't see why most people would need an armrest as a high priority item.

This. Plus for me at least the e-brake stick works well as a wrist-rest kind of thing. Sure it's not as comfy as a real arm rest but it's good enough (I thought when buying my car earlier this year that I'd need a real arm rest).

I do the exact same thing in my car. I was looking at armrests before I got the car but now I have no desire to get one

Nope, I've got the other one with gears and the knob and the extra pedal. I put an armrest in mine after a long road trip. I went with the EUDM 86 armrest. Its so nice and its for good storage.

Stock suspenion is fine, suspension on mine is still 100% stock after over 5 years of having it. Things I would recommend for better driving feel/ride quality are changing out the steering rack bushings to solid Delrin pieces, more solid/denser motor mounts, and a good solid strut tower bar like the Grimmspeed. Other thing I really like are lighter 17x7.5 +40mm wheels with lighter and higher performance 205/45-17 tires, much more lively, precise, and fun than stock.

I'd just start here if I were you. With both of these, you should definitely notice a lil' more juice I stress replacing the inlet hose so much because the sound generator tube waste air and really has no effect in my opinion. Makes absolutely no difference sound wise. These inlet hoses are usually larger in size due to the removal of the sound generator. There are millions of brands that make these inlet hoses but I went with Perrin.

After reading everything one can find, I wouldn't waste time/money with anything else other than following two. I am glad I didn't do anything other than a cheap K&N filter and I am still thinking if it did anything useful.

Good on you. I was paying attention to how I hold the wheel today on the highway. Left leg bent, left arm resting on said leg and was holding the wheel with a thumb and forefinger. Alternately, steering with my wrist.

In town, one hand on the wheel and one on the shifter.

I did look around and there is a good number of people driving with two hands. I'd say about half. I've never really paid attention before.

OP has a 17 (assuming MT) and is not going to see much of anything at all by adding the Perrin or a drop-in. What do you mean by "larger in size"? Same ID as the hose it replaced. And the 17 MT airbox is different as well.
