How many troll threads like this are we going to get before you guys stop responding to these idiots?

It's clear, they are very upset about their small wee-wee and they are very insecure about themselves...let them live in their own little world

The comparison is about an FR-S vs the 350Z, not the Subaru BRZ Limited vs the 370z.

2013 Scion FR-S: $24,930
2012 Nissan 370z: $32,280

So yeah... maybe not $10K, but I would say $7,350 is still a substantial enough price differential that makes this comparison extremely tough, if not flawed.

The Z is a nice car - no doubt about it, but when you incrementally spend $7K+ more on a car... yeah it's a no brainer that you're going to get something faster.
I disagree with your reasoning. I've been surprised at how many times I've had to argue this point on this forum in the few weeks I've been here. Just because you have, say 50 grand, to throw on a vehicle, that doesn't mean you necessarily want to just toss that 50 grand on a vehicle and be done with it. Some folks might want to consider cheaper alternatives and either mod the car with the remainder or use it on something else.

Why is that so far fetched?

The Z and the FR-S are both great cars that do different things well. Drive them both and pick what you like, if they're on your car buying radar.

Yeah, I hate to be shallow, but I dated some girls with beautiful faces that were totally flat and the attraction wasn't nearly as strong for me when dating an above average face with nice ones

Obviously, that's not a consensus opinion over there. It's the opinion of one troll.

Some of us don't need to buy a $40k car just to get laid.

"think the FR-S was designed to battle a different class of car, not take on the Z ...... i believe it was built to do battle with Suburu's BRZ , from what ive read"

Edit: I'm sorry but I just couldn't get that far. MOST of those guys have NO idea what they're talking about. In other words, I haven't a single "#$&*" to spare over what they or anyone else thinks about the car. I like it, and that's enough for me.

My parents own the convertible Z350. They love it. I have driven it. It's nice. And I would seriously look at buying one, BUT, it has only 2 seats. And I'm not going to dish out a ton of money for the G37. Plus, I like a small light car. One that FITS me.

Uh...370Z was shorter, wider, lighter, has better visibility (except out the rear), and driver position (for me at least) is much better. I'm not sure what you have been reading or actually driving, but almost everyone that has driven the both cars will say the 370z is what the 350z should have been.

Just FYI

370Z:
Curb weight 3,232 pounds
Wheelbase 100.4 in
Length 167.1 in
Width 72.8 in
Height 51.8 in

350Z (07+)
Curb Weight 3,339 lb (Base)
Wheelbase 104.3 in*
Length 169.8 in*
Width 71.5 in*
Height 52.1 in*

BRZ
Wheelbase 101.2 in
Length 166.7
Width 69.9
Height 50.6
Curb weight 2,762 lbs.

I always laugh at the misconception that the Z is an *expensive* car. I got mine brand new in 2010 (with 4 miles on the odometer) for under 30K. And really, who uses a 20-40k car to get laid? Girls don't give a shit about that. Maybe in a 100k+ car, MAYBE.

I've kicked around the thought of checking out a BRZ sometime when the hype fizzles down. I love the way it looks and will wait to see what the aftermarket has to bring to the table. I'm just not sure it will impress me the way I would want it.

That thread started before the FRS/BRZ was released. Misinformation abounds in the internet forums. There are similar threads in SI forums, Bimmerpost, etc.

Its a psycological need to defend our choices and no such debate ever has a winner or ever make any difference in the grand scheme of things. It does provide me with something to read to pass the time though.
