If they're not torn they'll survive being bent back straight once. Then don't ever bend them again. You can buy a can of spray undercoat to cover the scratches if it's a concern. Are you in Ontario?

Yeah I am.

I'm considering having a shop take care of it. I've also got a ton of holes underneath from mounting side skirts that I'd like to get filled so maybe that'll be a project for a body shop next summer.

I grew up right across the lake from you. Don't wait too long to get those holes plugged.

I use this when forced to jack from the sides, I've also bent the pinch welds over previously:

Jesus.

Lol

FWIW I get my car rust proofed every year and am pretty quick to bust out my paint pen and cover bare metal.

Have you had the pinch welds repaired?

And that's what I need for my little jack. Same shitty one they show in the picture.

They fold right back, they're quite flimsy. The adaptor skips them entirely.

This will only increase as the cars age and rust.

The slot is not about sliding off. It's about supporting the car from the unibody frame, not some random fender sheet metal.

When you jack up from the center, how do you support your car once you remove the jack? God help you if you're getting under the car with just the jack supporting the car. If you''re just putting jack stands directly on the welds, one day, those welds will fold, and you better pray the car doesn't slip off the stand.
I put jacks stands on the pinch welds. Still alive. Been putting plain old $30 jack stands on my BRZ since 2014. Not sure why your paranoid about pinch welds? Even if by some odd chances it does fold, where do you think it would be supported? Pretty much the same place where the factory recommends lifting from.

Guess what I'm trying to say is I been working under pinch welds longer than you....at least I think so. I'm 36 if your older, then... touché

This has been my experience. My miata had pinch welds and I jacked it up many times with a regular jack sitting directly on the pinch welds. Same with my 2013 FR-S.

I've never had a pinch weld bend over or rust where I've jacked up the car.

I've had my car on jackstands quite a bit. Have never jacked from the pinch welds, but I've been using the same 30 year old, nearly flat jack stands on the pinch welds and haven't had a single issue.

Resting the car on jack stands is not an issue unless you're like slamming the car down on the jackstands. Jacking it up from the jackstands is where you'll bend then over.

Is it ok to use a low profile jack and lift from the frame rail?
