Try looking up how to double clutch a crashbox or nonsynchro gearbox. It will help with understanding the need and why.

Not many left that have driven a WWII duce and a half.
Do Korean war ones count? Drove them for many years in the 70s since Canada was too cheap to buy 5 tons for domestic use. Also the old Kaiser. Army jeeps from the 50s were in common use until about 1980. Not a synchro in sight and double clutch was mandatory. Have never double clutched this car enemy once.

Yea, and most cars here have 40k miles on them.
Check this thread once all the cars have 100k+ miles on them.
There is no harm in saving wear on your dog teeth.

I double clutch on upshifting out of years of habit driving vintage cars.
In my other cars, your dog teeth wear out, you're looking at a $3000 repair, minimum.

You're the first person I have ever heard even discuss double clutching on upshifts.
Silliest thing I've ever heard.

I'm not worried about dog teeth on my transmission because as far as I know it doesn't have any since it's syncromesh.

What good does that do for your synchros?

Just in case he tries to edit that out:

You are just making it worse. More hilarious but worse. Pretty sure from your comments you have never been behind the wheel of a vintage car in your life.

Oh, and mine DOES have 100k on it. Where would you come up with "most have 40k"? Most are well above that.

Still getting better.
