Talking about 91 octane smell... I tried running a straight pipe and the smell was bad. Getting it in cabin and burning the eyes kind of bad.

Once tuned, the smell isn't as bad. Check all the connections to make sure you're sealed properly. HFC doesn't smell at all.

If I'm looking for just a "meaner" growl, is this Berk piece what I would want?

Also anyone running this piece with no tune? I'm thinking of using just my OFT Stage 1 91 tune with MAF Scaling for a Perrin BigMAF CAI.

It'd be subtly meaner sounding. You'd probably be better with a catback if sound quality is what you're aiming for.

And you are happy with the sound? Looks like this setup is what I'll end up with. I don't want LOUD or rasp. I got the Perrin resonated CBE.

You still can't find that info in 2017 lol. Not to necro the thread, but I was wondering on how are some of the OP's Berk HFC front pipe exhaust have been holding up. I think I'm gonna get one.

I've had mine since 2014, and it still looks new. I added a bullet resonator to the end of the front pipe to reduce some of the rasp. It's a well built piece of kit. Berk makes high quality stuff, and IIRC it's made in the USA.
