You can't possibly have given him a useful link. All the members of this board are stupid and lazy, remember?

There's your problem. Nobody here gives a flying fuck how it's done with German car ownership, even if anybody believed you.
And that's your problem, not ours. We all seem to be doing just fine paying three times as much as some imaginary supplier's prices. If you actually have something to contribute, like a great place to buy inexpensive OEM parts, please do. Your bitching and whining because you're too lazy to do your own research and obviously didn't do any research before buying the car doesn't help anyone. |

You want to buy the parts for 33% of what the dealer would charge but have you ever even priced a part at a dealer? Have you totally ignored all the sites and links people have given you where you can buy discounted OEM Subaru parts? Do BMW dealers not stock parts? Would they even bother if as you keep saying "nobody" buys from them? You have really never heard of some of the largest parts manufacturers in the world? You have been in an iron curtain of Euro cars for that long? Why the hell did you ask a question and then shit on everybody that answers? Will you now complain that the forum is nothing but jerks when your future questions go unanswered (or worse get answered by people that don't have a clue what they are talking about)?

OK so where are the dealer prices to compare? How is this any different than the several places people told you to get Subaru parts? Why do you never answer any of my questions?

Those sites are independent vendors who sell OEM parts.
They are not dealers. Dealers are priced triple to quadruple. The Subaru parts sites are all dealers. Again, this may simply be a Japanese car thing. |

It's not about German cars. I could be saying the same thing about Italian cars.
It's about vastly different supply chain logistics. Getting Japanese parts from independent retailers seems to simply not exist. It's natural to be enraged when someone opens your eyes to the lifetime of ass raping you've been enjoying. |

Prove the price difference. You can't. The Subaru sites are NOT dealers. There are probably 100 different independent sites.

You still miss the point.
They are still selling "Subaru Genuine" parts. ALL of those parts will be marked up by Subaru. The entire point, THE ENTIRE POINT, of this thread is that in every other car forum, people cut out the dealership. I don't want "Genuine Subaru" idler pulley. I want an Aisin pulley. Do you see how I buy directly from Aisin -> Vendor -> Ludwig. Do you see how Subaru is not in that chain? "Genuine" -> Vendor -> Ludwig will cost you triple. The dealership does not need to sell you the part in order for the car maker to mark up the parts with their logo. Anything marked as "Genuine Subaru" will instantly have a 300% price markup. That is the point, whether you understand it or not, that is how the parts business works. You need price examples? Look at what I already posted. $241 for a "Subaru genuine" radiator from that website (and even higher at the dealer) $104 for a "Subaru genuine" water pump from that website. (and even more at the dealer) For non-Japanese cars, for reference, you'd pay $50 for an OEM water pump and $100 for an OEM radiator. (And triple at the dealer) But that supply chain simply does not seem to exist with Japanese parts. Seems you can only get "Genuine" or 3rd party aftermarket, not OEM de-branded. Just sayin' |

Now let's look at Subaru dealer price against an independent site.
Hmmmmm not that big a difference. By using the logic applied here I should be able to find a $100 alternator. Ain't gonna happen.

Subaru is not in the chain of many of the sites either. They just show the logo and the name the same as the sites you linked show BMW. LOLOLOLOLOLOL Yep I need you to tell me about the auto parts business and how it works.

That's not what you've done. All you've done is insult people who answered your questions. You have contributed absolutely nothing but negativity. About all you can expect in return now is for people here to respond in kind. I have a feeling you're used to that. |
