Vogtland springs issue
Hello everyone!
Yesterday I installed lowering springs from vogtland. They claimed that their springs will lower the car 2.5cm (1'). I got the promised drop in the rear, but for some reason the front of the car stayed almost exactly the same as stock. I started to think that i've got something messed up.. Here are some before and after pictures and the front strut. Before: http://imgur.com/V4uGksJ After: http://imgur.com/diPuzg6 Front strut: http://imgur.com/tuFAlwy Did i do something wrong or should I wait for the springs to settle in a bit more? Btw, there are no weird noises or anything, the car handles beautifly. Last edited by Tamukas; 08-07-2017 at 09:46 AM. |

Are you blind? Because you seem blind. I've lower half a dozen of these cars with RCE yellows. Same results immediately after you put the springs on.
"Yesterday I installed lowering springs from vogtland. They claimed that their springs will lower the car 2.5cm (1')" Oh looks like a one inch spring one day after install. Hm, wonder if they need time to settle. Should look something similar to this after settling. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showp...&postcount=213 Last edited by Darkrune; 08-07-2017 at 07:08 PM. |

LOL, I'm blind? Remember, you are the one who just said that I need to "Look on a big screen" - as if MOAR PIXELS will suddenly allow me to see that the wheel gap in the front isn't exactly the same in the before and after photos.
Put both photos into Photoshop and overlay the front wheel section and you can see that the fender/wheel gap is exactly the same. Also are you implying that the OP didn't take any measurements before and after? I had RCE Yellows and even though they are only .75" drop versus the 1" drop springs we're discussing, my front was still well lower than his is in the "after" photo. I understand that springs can settle, but not an entire inch. Quote:

Aren't the springs with the closer/tighter section of wound spring on the top supposed to go in the rears? But these are on the front? Front and rears reversed maybe?

The gap is no where near the same. Overlays only work if you carry the same angle. One photo being taken at 45 degrees and the other taken at 90 degrees. Looks like a 7/8" drop just from eye balling. The car still clearly has been lowered and not settled. I know the OP didn't measure, otherwise I am sure he would have those figures posted.

Edit: Wait those are on the front? The "skinnier" springs should be on the back. The larger springs should be on the front strut. Edit 2: This is my car's front strut ![]() This is the car after two weeks.

This is what I said above. I think you read my post too quickly and thought I meant upside down instead of reversed front and back.
