Now, if this was written as satire or irony and intended to be funny then I missed it completely.

Read the original thread and point out where anybody acted as the OP stated in the opening of this thread. It just isn't there. This thread is a gross overreaction.
I had not seen the reference thread - I guess the title did not particularly interest me.
I did go back and read it and decided there is an in-between point here. Yeah, he probably did not like it that basically no one agreed with his original thoughts. However, in this thread, he did not paint all or most of 86-owners in this light. He said some. And I think some did exhibit a slight bit of snobbery (which happens with all makes) against anything KIA - which is not unusual, a lot of people look down on Korean manufacturers.
But yes, this thread is a bit of an over-reaction even for that since most here are pretty reasonable.
I have some biases and I love the make/model car I have driven the past 17 years, but I like interesting cars - and that is exactly one reason I am looking at getting a FR-S or BRZ for a fun car. I would probably be interested in a Stinger if I got a test drive. (Full disclosure - I loved the 2011 Sonata turbo we had for my wife's car, and we now have an Equus that we both like (neither were for fun!!).

Well - I hope not. If he will just buckle up and enjoy the ride wherever it takes him, it will be better for all of us.
Anyway, if @Tcoat and I start going back and forth, there will be dozens of pages of comments and triple quotes!!

Move-on everyone! Enough psychology. Let's get back to cars. I still think Stinger is a nice car but we have a better car to talk about.

Just read about the Stinger and that Kia sounds promising. 2800lbs at 315 hp sounds like fun. Nice to see companies still making affordable sports cars.

Kia and Hyundai are so much better than several years ago. I have driven a 2017 Hyundai Sonata from NY to WDC a couple months ago. It was very impressive for a sedan. I would consider it before Nissan Altima and Honda Accord.

My MT statement was sarcasm. What you just said is my standard comment in the monthly ATVs MT debacles.

eh..again, the fact that autos are faster is totally besides the point, it has been that way for at least 20 years now (even longer if you count motorsports)..I still had fun with my auto FRS but to me the manual is even more fun. For some people I get that the additional interaction may not make the driving experience more enjoyable but they cannot argue that it certainly provides more stimulation...and if one feels that driving a manual takes away focus from other aspects of driving it just means they still need more practice.
