I'm getting somewhat worried now. reading their reviews on facebook and its a 50/50 of satisfied/not satisfied. and a whole lot of defensive ''wasnt our fault'' replies, by the shop. an acquaintance apparently had problems with them too, i found out today.

should have gone to my usual shop, but this one was on my way to work

im guessing this is an expensive thing to fix as well, considering its a pretty damn deep hole they've punched into it.

I'll let you guys know tomorrow, but if this isnt fixed by winter, I'm be driving around in a bucket of rust.

And what did they do for you/her in that situation? Were they able to fix the vehicle back to it's original showroom condition?

Yes. In our case it was just the clip on side skirt not the actual body. You could see the actual lift bracket marks imbedded in the plastic and they broke 3 of the clips that hold it on off. They just pulled one off a car in stock and put it on. Didn't even attempt to argue the cause when they saw it.

I'm back. naturally they went straight on the defensive. they didn't doubt that the damage was fresh. however, it was apparently 100% impossible for them do have done it. Instead, it was explained away as me having had an encounter with ''flying rocks''.

the manager was kind enough to take 20 minutes out of his precious time to watch surveillance footage from the garage, but only when he was back from his vacation. which is god knows how long from now.

its not looking good. even if he does watch the footage, I doubt he'll actually have the integrity to let me know when he does spot the fuck-up.

so, yeah.

Have them send you the surveillance footage, let them know you're more than happy to go through it on their behalf, and can send any relevant screenshots their way.

i somehow doubt theyd let me, but Ill ask next time. whoever.

going to a garage a friend of mine recommended. they'll hopefully help me assess how this could have happened, and give me some more assurance to help pushing this tire shop.

So fucking frustrating. I would've requested that they bring the car back over to the same lift that they used, and then position the arms, and they could've seen how the arms could dent that area.

Sorry, but a "flying rock" can't dent metal in such a perfect way like that. And you certainly would've heard that while driving. Did you laugh in his face when he said that?

Can't believe their attitude. Fucking assholes.

him mentioning, quite literally, flying rocks, just made me speechless.

the guy is well known as a complete horsecock apparently. been doing some reading up on them.

there might be some incoming legal help too. I'm not letting this one slide if they're gonna be this dishonest and rude.

Be mindful, CCTV recordings will over-write themselves. So the video can be over written depending on how long the manger is out. If they have a 2 week cycle, and hes out for 2 weeks your f'ed.

I would not wait for the manager to come back. How many people work here? I only 1 guy can review the footage? I would start talking to the shop about reporting this issue to the authorities. Tell them they have 48 hours to review and get back to you, after that you will have to take legal action to make you whole again.

yeah, I'll inquire about it in a week or so.

though it would look suspicious if they just ''lost'' it.

If the recordings existed they've likely been deleted by now, and if not it'll just depend on their storage limits and retention policies. Could be weeks of recording, or hours.

It may be worth measuring and documenting the distance between the most heavily damaged areas and see how that measures against their lift equipment, but good luck getting access to it without some kind of law enforcement order. That is clearly not damage from flying rocks... unless they flew straight up off the ground at like 100+ mph...

IMHO...if you paid them with a credit card I would dispute the charges if they don't own up to the damages.
I had similar incident but with a body & paint shop. Original body & paint work $$$ was refunded & they paid for damages to my car.

Video footage will probably be written over by the time the guy gets back.

If you paid cash/check then take it up with better business bureau. File a claim with them.

Just my 2¢
