My twin is the car my wife and I use for our weekend getaways. I don't hear any drone with the trd catback. I think it sounds great. I get no complaints from the wife.

I came to understand "drone" when I tried out the Berk muffler delete. That was just supposed to be a toy to throw on during meets & such. It was unbearable. When Mrs. Ultra and I test drove the RS1, I felt the same thing. It's not nearly as bad but I honestly felt then like it would be a bit much. I think it's like you say, that people have different definitions of drone.

has anyone with the TRD exhaust noticed the sound mellowing out over time? oddly mine doesn't drone as much as I remember when I first got it...or perhaps I'm going deaf too

I've noticed this too, the sound is a bit louder on brand new TRD exhausts than mine, I assume the previous owner installed the new exhaust a while ago since mine is a 10 series. |
