Just found out...

My FRS came with a TRD exhaust. That's a nice surprise... I thought they were stock and was thinking about buying new ones haha.

So the way it actually sounds has nothing to do with it, you just wanted to mod the exhaust for the sake of modding it?

I'm was looking for a meaner sound.

you found this out while fixing your tranny? and you should hear how one without the trd exhaust sounds like...a lot of folks think the trd ones are too loud or drone too much.

But now you're not, because it sounds meaner now that you know what it is?

No, I saw an FRS today and his exhaust barely made any noise and made me wonder why mine was louder.

Then leave the TRD and get a header or catless pipe. Just changing to a different sounding fatback (most are not louder than the TRD) is sort of a waste. Most aftermarket cat backs all run around the same decibels but it is their different tones that makes them seem louder or quieter.

I'm doing some research on that, don't really know much about these things, I'm not really in a rush to buy a new exhaust but was thinking about it.

Thanks.

Set some cash aside for that new transmission.

Another option is to get a drop in high flow intake filter. That also changes the sound a bit. I have the TRD exhaust and drop in and the combo is just perfect for my tastes. Has a nice deep tone, is louder than stock but still tame enough that my neighbours don't gather their torches and pitchforks when I leave home at 5 am.

Called the dealership and my service manager told me the synchros falls under the powertrain warranty and that it'd be covered if it goes bad.

Haha, problem is the grind doesn't happen often, if it goes I hope it does before my warranty runs out or else I'm screwed.
