Glad to see another BRZ guy in Central PA!

I got impatient and found one in Hanover. CBS Limited MT with pp1b. Picked her up today!

I ordered on 3/1 and just got a call this afternoon with a vague August date. Should have an exact date in a few weeks. I've heard some of the others from our group buy are getting calls too for August, so it sounds like there will be a big shipment around that time.

That's standard practice when ordering and new car; doubt they knew shit about your specific order.

Guess we'll find out then as time goes on then. Dealer is giving me $500 under msrp so I don't really mind being patient. Assuming they stay true to the numerous e-mails and little signed things I egged out of them with stated price and no hidden clauses..

You know, my dealership never told me the amount of total cars they were getting and that always felt fishy to me.

Surprisingly nothing... The LithiaReno, Nevada Subaru internet sales guy was quoting me 500 under. I didn't see any negative press about them here or at other forums (if there is I guess my search skills suck....) and other dealer review sites didn't have really negative things mentioned so it sounded legit. Just hope they don't try to screw me when I make the trip up there from LA...

edit
The guys name is Paul if anyone was interested in giving it a go. A dealership in Chandler, AZ was also quoting me right at MSRP (even sent a picture of paperwork signed by their sales manager with price they would charge) if anyone else wanted to still order, they just got a WR Pearl limited in I believe.

I called Reno Subaru and they told me the same thing but the catch is that their doc fees in nevada are over $400 more than california fees so its about the same as msrp in cali. Not to mention you will pay to fly there so you would actually pay a little more.

My email:

Good afternoon. I have heard that several SWP Limited Manual-Transmission BRZ models have been delivered in North Carolina in the past week or so. Could you give me an update on my order? Is it in transit, or do you have any ETA info for me? Some of the BRZs that meet the specs on my order have been delivered but were not pre-ordered vehicles. I placed my order on April 20th, so I'm wondering why un-allocated cars are being delivered before mine.

Any update you can provide would be helpful.

Their email:

Thank you for the email. Maura McCaney (with whom you previously worked) is out of the office until the end of the week. I took a look at your BRZ order and hope the following information is helpful to you. I will let Maura know of your email and my response.

Your order is properly in our system and will fill. Right now, the ETA for your BRZ is the end of the year. This is an estimate and may change. Although we would like very much to get your vehicle to you sooner, we face some challenges in doing so. Specifically, the limited production of this vehicle, the high level of demand, and some factors related to our Distribution process that we are working on. You are correct that BRZ vehicles are arriving throughout the country. Most are filling sold orders; some are not. The automatic transmission vehicles are not as in demand as the manual transmission and may be some of what you are seeing. Others may be vehicles coming in to fill a sold order that was cancelled at the dealership level.

I spoke with Anna Latta, Sales Manager at Performance. I let her know of your contact to SOA. She and I discussed some of the above information. Again, we can confirm that the order is properly in the system and will fill. My recommendation is to continue working with the team at Performance. We are providing periodic updates to our dealerships regarding ETA information. If the ETA for your BRZ changes, Performance will know this and will be in the best position to communicate with you.

If you have any questions about this information, or if we may be of any further assistance, please let us know. Thank you for ordering the BRZ and for your patience. I don't know if you have had a chance to drive one or not. I drove one two weeks ago and it was excellent.

Sincerely,

Kevin Shumaker

Unless CA doc fees are -$55 then I'm not sure.. I was quoted a DOC fee of $345...

Guess I should do some researching. Thanks for the heads up!

I see flying up there as ok. Gives me a nice drive down PCH to help break in the BRZ whenever it comes . at least thats the current plan...
