I enjoy building this car... I'm a detail guy that is fortunate enough to not have to drive my 86 everyday... it was my plan when I bought it... and it is still my plan. I hate doing most things more than once but when shit happens I just take care of it. I will not take this car to anybody to work on... even for recalls.

I have learned a lot on forums so I like to try and give back to the community by sharing what I've learned and through the mods that I have accomplished (DIYs). I also like to inspire ideas... If something I do to my 86 inspires someone to branch off my idea and create their own variation for their particular application... I've done a service to the community. If people would focus on that... my contribution has been received and that would be gratifying.

A car like zeal86's is a reflection of not just the person building it, but the community who supports it and the industry that invests in it. When the 86 platform came out, Toyota/Subaru's first move was to get the aftermarket involved in developing parts. That is why it can be considered a success, even if it hasn't outsold the Camry or Impreza. Still puts a smile on my face every day.

I was talking about the Impala.
There are loads of guys that put that much work into a car and still drive it. Now, they are not driving as a DD or anything but they still hit the streets.

It is a low rider and they can certainly be over the top. I rather like it.

I was sort of baffled how you seemed to take offense to my comment. Even a show car that never even gets started much less driven has a place in the overall scheme of things.

I was actually talking about the car above my post, not yours. To me that is on a whole different level, whereas yours is still entirely driveable without much heartache.
