It's been recalled once already for a hard reset and firmware update and it still freezes. We're taking it in later this week to have the entire head unit replaced but I'm not holding my breath that it's going to be fine after that. Multiple owners of Imprezas/Outbacks have reported same issues.

Yea the 2.0i Base and Premium models have the 6.5 inch Harmon screen which do not have a CD player, and I've heard of some issues like it freezing, shutting off, or erasing radio presets but only 1/5 customers who have that screen have called me about it. This is the one that is likely to be offered on the BRZ given the amount of space where the headunits are normally placed.

The Harmon representative at our MY17 Impreza launch training said that the firmware could be updated via USB, and actually the first recall performed for the rear-view camera display was updated this way. I guess Harmon doesn't have a firmware update yet so Subaru is replacing units for customer satisfaction...

To be fair, some people on this forum get triggered in one way or another when they see the words "turbo", "BRZ", and "STI" next to each other making it hard to read the sarcasm.

I propose to make sarcasm more obvious, there needs to be a minimum of three emojis

I try really really hard to make sarcasm, irony and satire so painfully obvious that it slaps people in the face and still some read it at face value and get all bent out of shape.

I don't know about your country but here in the states dealers have few BRZs in stock. Not sure if your strategy will work unless you are willing to settle with any BRZ e.g. some less popular color with AT

From Sweden. There is a couple of demo cars available, some are not for sale until '18 is released as they are used for leasing or just showcase.

Every car here is sold as Limited there is no other option.

I'll settle with any color except black and i've tried both AT & MT, either is fine.

Gotcha. If you are that flexible, then definitely try to score one off the dealer lot right when they start taking orders for 18'...which btw, does anyone know when dealers will start taking 18' orders (in the states)?

Nvm, found my answer here - September...http://www.planetsubaru.com/2018-subaru-brz.htm

What is Harmon version? Is it an abbreviate of Harman/Kardon?

Harmon Kardon is a division of the Harman Group.

Yep. I would have said HK but that implies something more menacing

Any idea if this 2018 model BRZ is going to have a special "series." color?
