Yep, the first gas that I recall pumping was $.29 per gallon.

And the frosty little coke bottles, out of the chest type machine, were $.05 per bottle.

I'm 54, don't remember ever seeing an Esso station in my life, but do remember the tiger commercials here in San Jose

When I pumped gas from 1969 to 1972 it went all the way up to .50 a gallon and people were losing their minds. Coke was all the way up to .10 (with a .02 bottle deposit)

Yea, I was about 8 when we got our first power mower. A cheap Sears, had a Tecumseh 3hp. My older brother was 11. I was pissed that he got to use it, and my dad said I was too young. My brother and I fought over who got to do stuff. Different time. My dad said he never had to ask us boys to help with things, we always just wanted to.
