He screwed up. He admits it. He hasn't tried to blame the car, the road, another driver or in any other way deflect the blame but you all want to be ****s.
Bet if the same shit happened to most of you tomorrow you would be trying to blame everything but yourself. This guy is at least up front and honest with us and himself.
"Get a different car" is the stupidest thing said. The car was not the issue.
On the other hand "take some lessons to prove you are serious" is a great and constructive suggestion.
Still doesn't change the fact that his irresponsible driving caused an accident.

What kind of car that should be is irrelevant.
If you drive the same in every single vehicle then your'e ignorant to cars. What does 86 reference? I'd love to know your opinion in reference to a 2001 F-150 Extended cab vs a 2004 Honda Civic EX.

Ya I have read you extensive driving claims. When crossing a highway it makes no difference. Basic driving is basic driving end of story.
Now toddle off and drive your "beast".

I'm not saying dude didn't admit his wrong so do not twist what everyone is saying here. Because something is admitted doesn't mean a lesson is truly learned. Right?!?!?! How many honest times have you, and "you" meaning tried and true tatted scarred adults as most of us are, had that example presented to us to stop and we didn't stop? We're looking out for your safety at the end of the day man but live and learn as most of us have. We're here on this forum because we've faced death and had a convo in some form but were here to share. Realize that.

I didn't read this entire post but if you are of legal age buy the car.

It's up to you to prove you can handle the situation.

It is up to me but The point of this thread was to ask for advice to help calm the nerves of my parents as I value their input and concerns. Whether it be safety specs of the FRS or any other suggestions (i.e. Defensive driving classes) that I could present to them to help. However thanks to some forum trolls it got off topic and they decided to ridicule my driving habits rather than address the actual topic of the thread.

You "bother" to respond to everything I say. What bothers you about what I said in this whole post? I'll be glad to exaggerate on any topic.

The very fact that you walked away without injury is another point you can present them. If you check the safety ratings you will also find that these cars are top of the class.
Just ignore the asshats there seem to be more of them everyday.

Don't flatter yourself I responded to many threads and posts. I think you were about three or four of them.

I think my first response in this thread was clear enough.
