Black badges from the Hyper-Blue BRZ
So I noticed the other day that on www.subarugenuineparts.com the Black Badges from the Hyper-Blue Impreza were listed for sale. So I made an inquiry to my good friend Subie Gal who works there, and she found the part numbers and ordered the badges for the Hyper-Blue BRZ for me!
Here they are on the website for reference: https://www.subarugenuineparts.com/p...d47e18e65b5d50 https://www.subarugenuineparts.com/p...d47e18e65b5d50 A lot of people just de-badge their WRX's, but I didn't really want to do that. Plus I'm going with a black-on blue theme and have some new black/yellow plates and yellow brakes coming, so I wanted to ditch all the chrome on my car in favor of black. I bought these knock offs from eBay, and they arrived a few weeks ago. The quality looks really good. I then put them next to my OEM badges and noticed that the spacing between the knock off SUBARU lettering is wider than OEM SUBARU lettering. The spacing between the BRZ lettering match up just fine. Because of this, I've been reluctant to install the knock offs. I might just pull the trigger on buying/installing the genuine ones as Kostamojen did. |

I'd ordered some of those from aliexpress too. Here they are under my plastidipped OEM badges. The letters are individual so you can space them however you want, put them on backwards, whatever. Not bad for ~$4.

I decided to give it a shot with the Goo Gone and fishing wire method. Be aware that the U's on the SUBARU lettering are different sizes; my knockoffs had them switched, so make sure that the bigger U goes after the S and the smaller U is at the end.

Nice...did you do anything to help make sure they were straight/spacing was correct, or just eyeball it? I was thinking of using some painters tape along the the bottom or the original badges to mark where the bottom of the letters should be.

Yup, that is exactly what I did. I used painters tape along the bottom and sides. After removing the original badges, there was adhesive residue left. That's when I stuck on the tape. The BRZ letters are easy, but the SUBARU letters are kind of tricky. I just started with the first and last letters then eyeballed it from there.

That's a great idea! Make a strip along the top as well to help with making sure they will be level.
It's still gonna be a lot trickier than the version shown in the OP's photos where everything is already together and perfectly aligned.
