Hyper Silver, Hyper Black, and SBC. Are they the same?

Hi Folks.

I want your help. Enkei has, in the past, produced wheels with these three colors that are very similar:

Hyper Silver, Hyper Black, and Super Brilliant Coating (SBC).

I'm having a hard time really seeing a difference between the three. From what I gather, Hyper Silver is a regular silver with a shiny/chrome like color applied on top. Hyper black is similar, but with a black base and chrome on top. And SBC is more just like chrome, but it does appear to have some color in it as well.

When reaching out to vendors and different websites, I've had a half dozen different vendors tell me all different things about what color is what, most of them using the same stock photo for all three different colors.

For example, this is listed as Hyper Silver at Moddiction:
http://www.moddiction.com/enkei/enke.../i-206764.aspx

You can see it's a nice bright shiny chrome looking color. That's also extremely similar to the SBC... seen here:

And of course, hyper black, using the same stock photo as hyper silver:

HELP! Does anyone know what the truth is around these three colors? Are they the same? Are they different?

Here's the answer I got from the Enkei Wheels facebook page:

F1 Silver is a traditional bright silver paint. Hyper silver is a 2-stage paint with a black base coat and translucent silver over the top, so it is a bit darker, almost like a smoked or burnt silver. SBC is not a paint at all, but a type of PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) Coating. It is like a more grown-up, less flash version of chrome.

BUT, they didn't include any pics of the three to compare.

Another answer that I got, from turn 14, a distributor:

NTO3+M's are only offered in Hyper Black and Silver from Enkei. SBC looks more like a chrome wheel with some black so it's not as bright as a chrome wheels. Hyper Black is a little bit darker than SBC and not as bright in direct sunlight looks like black chrome. Enkei doesn't offer a Hyper Silver, just Silver. http://www.enkei.com/nt03m.shtml

(The information is all over the place- because I have seen these wheels offered in the colors they say they are not available in)

Thanks.

Here's the grand answer between hyper silver/hyper black, again from Enkei:

"Hyper Black is the same as Hyper Silver when it comes to our racing wheels. Only in the Performance Series does Hyper Silver vary from Hyper Black."
