wow I'm so ready to buy an exhaust from you guys, but before I do, I want to hear three more things:

1) headers+over/down+muffler-delete-axelback
2) over/down+muffler-delete-axelback
3) muffler-delete-axelback

Jason I am really looking forward to running this setup. Only thing I miss about my WRX is the rumble I got from that setup.

Also glad to hear your going to be picking one up, looking forward to you guys working your magic.

Its a compromise if someone wants more power has to deal with the noise ...

This car is not exotic like a Ferrari or Aston martin ...obviously

Screw diesels, they have rules in their favor to offset the crap power to weight ratio.

Dyno graph details are on the way. Can't wait to get the baseline on our new FR-S (yep, we finally put our name on one) and a new update with the 1.5"-1.625" stepped Tri-Y catless header. Needless to say, at the top end we crushed the baseline with 28whp gains over the stronger of the two baseline pulls (which ended 300rpm before redline) and 31whp over the weaker of the two baselines at redline.

Going to put the graphs together here shortly. Need to do some testing on a stock car as well.

Just curious if you guys happened to grab any decibel values for this setup or if that is something you guys typically do.

I am very interested in this setup for the future, but want to make sure its going to fit under my City's decibel limit laws. Would be silly to install something like this and have to rip it out because it is above what they consider "too loud"....

Here's a pic of the intake pipe (hella jdm, yo):

How much flex is available in those 2 rubber joining pipes? The standard inlet pipe appears to allow a lot of flex. I have no idea how much the engine moves on it's mounts; I have no idea how much is required. Your thoughts?

There is enough flex, the radius coming off the airbox allows movement, the image is taken from the side, so it is hard to see.

If you prefer more flex we could use a hump hose. We are also adapting GroupN motor mounts from the STi onto the BRZ.

Again: If you want a quieter exhaust, we'll build it. If you want louder, we will do that also.

I have data at various throttle leves 10' off the back bumper. What are the limits in Calgary and how do they measure?

California is 95db, I believe. Some tracks (Laguna seca) is only 92, or so I heard. Oo lazy to look it up again

I guess they choose to ignore that when the motoGP guys go there. Those hondas on the overrun are sprintcar loud, painful hearing from 70m away.

I'll say its quiet enough as long as itll pass the laguna seca sound test-- which is 92db as measured at full load, pretty much top of the rev band, from 50ft away, mic about 2ft off the ground.

As a less exact/scientific reference, a Porsche 911 GT3RS will fail this 'Laguna Seca' test if the stock mufflers have all of their noise suppression valves open. So if this is louder than a stock 911 GT3RS in sport mode then thats a bit too loud IMHO.
