I don't know about that color. I don't see it listed, only Oceanic Blue. Are you talking about 2017 colors? Actually, I wasn't familiar with all the 86 colors, since I am really a Subaru fan. I bought the first year Forester in 1998 (Forest Green, I think they called it) and the first turbo Forester in 2004 (Sierra Gold Metallic). I am keeping the latter but my daily driver is now the BRZ.

I may be wrong regarding the latest generation of paints, but it seems to me that darker colors, especially blues, tend to end up fading and blistering more often if exposed to a great deal of sunlight. My 04 Forester still has excellent paint, even though it has only been garaged for 3 of its 13 years. I don't know where you live, but in Albuquerque UV radiation is pretty intense. I expect the white BRZ paint to last a long time because of its high reflectance of light. (Also, I am keeping it in a garage.) Now, the clear coat may be another matter, but still haven't noticed any damage on the 04 Forester.

If you're not planning on keeping the car for a long time, you could ignore the longevity issue.

I'll also fess up to the fact that I bought the BRZ 6AT. I drove stick from 1967 to 2004, but I got tired of the shifting. My first AT was the 04 Forester, with only a 4AT, but with the turbo it has kick ass torque and doesn't really need more gears. But I love the finesse of the BRZ 6AT, and it does have the sport mode which lets it wind up way higher before shifting. Of course, it also has paddle shifters and the M mode, where you can shift +/- with the stick. Note that I had to buy the Limited model rather than the cheaper Premium model in order to have the AT option.

Okay, I wandered off thread, but I wanted to put in a good word for the 6AT, which has gotten some very good reviews despite the purists' preference for stick. I understand that preference, but I have drifted over to the sporty version of AT. It is fun to drive even without a clutch!

Finally, if you can afford the optional STI 15-spoke black wheels, go for it! But don't pay list price...low ball it as part of your bargaining plan.

Not really far enough into the cars life yet to know if there will be fading or blistering problems but my guess is there won't be many. The whole paint makeup was changed in 2012 to meet new international VOC standards. This paint chips easier because it is harder and less flexible than the pre 2012 stuff but that hardness should prevent blistering and fade. It does remain to be seen in the long term though.
