Thank you all! After all the considerations I finally made up my mind. Hot lava for an FR-S and galaxy blue for a BRZ. Whichever pops out first on my nearest area I'll go take a look and hopefully buy it.

P.S: I've yet to see either of these colors in person. Are they different from what it looks like on the internet or pretty much the same? And I heard galaxy blue for a BRZ is pretty rare to see nowadays and wonder why is that?

Because galaxy blue discontinued after only a year it launched. I own a galaxy blue BRZ and can tell you it's a great color to go with! Hot lava for me is the best color for an FR-S IMO. If I had to buy an FR-S then I'd go with hot lava.

Echoing what everyone else said, i.e. color is a personal choice so best to look at the different colors in person and decide what looks/feels best for you; pictures are great but nothing compares to seeing the car in the color of your choice in person.

I went with Dark Grey Metallic (on a 2017 BRZ Premium). One of the reasons for choosing DGM was a desire to be as inconspicuous as possible -- w/ DGM all the bits & pieces of the body, trim, etc. blend together into one contiguous (and relatively monotone) mass.

The downside is it doesn't show the car's interesting lines and curves the way a brighter more reflective color might, and a dark (small low to the ground) car is difficult to see, period -- *I don't* like other drivers looking *at* my car but at the same time *I do* want other drivers to *see* my car. W/ DGM the vehicle feels mostly invisible (which I like), however also vulnerable (which I don't like) even during the day but especially at dusk, on dark roads at night, etc.

At first I really wanted an asphalt FR-S, however I ended up settling for the ultramarine which I believe is severely underrated in both the FR-S and BRZ (galaxy blue silica). A beautiful color during the day and very premium looking at night. However at the end of the day get whatever color makes you look back when you walk away from your car.

I've always been a fan of the blue on both platforms (Ultramarine for FRS and I'm not sure of the Blue's name on the BRZ)

I'd also check into that Hyper blue brz. I'm not sure if they are a special edition or not but boy those cars are beautiful. Honestly though like I went from originally wanting a black frs to test driving an Orange one to leaving the lot with a Blue one. I honestly love all the colors on the car, you cant really go wrong with any of the shades.

If you want something most practical I'd go white. scratches dont appear as easily, makes a much easier plastidip job and everything matches white, so you could go any color wheels etc etc.

I hadn't had a white car in many years, and never thought I would buy another one. But I wasn't than keen on the available colors for the BRZ. Sure, the WRB is a nice blue, but I see that color so often, especially on WRX's. Dark colors look ugly when they start to get dirty, and also get hotter (I'm in NM). So I decided on the Crystal White Pearl. The Crystal is a subtle metallic like sparkle, and the Pearl indicates that it is an off-white, which is obvious when you see it next to a pure white car.

But I didn't like the stock wheels, so I ordered the car with the STI 15-spoke wheels. These are gorgeous wheels in my opinion, and weigh substantially less at 18.2 lbs each. The wheels look terrific with this white color.

I've got about 1200 miles on it now, and loving it.

The pearl actually means it has a different finish than normal paint. It is a 3 step paint with the pearl between the base and the clear coat. It is that middle finish that gives you sparkle and that off white effect. The Lava is also a pearl finish. The red is not and that is why it has no sparkle to it. Not sure about the others.

Oceanic Blue is Lapis Blue Pearl (Subaru) K3X code on both, which has pearl and addition of more purple flake than Ultra, the difference is slight but at night under lights it's more noticeable for some reason compared to Ultra. I'd assume the Pearl is the reason.

Yep. Pearl will make a colour pop.
