He's not saying 4 cylinder can't make power. Let me change thing around. When did Supra made 4 cylinder? If you don't know, research!

I know Supra always have 6 cylinders, just think about "Dowsizing trend" that a lot of sport car do at this time.

And what trend would that be? I haven't seen any trend downward...and who in their right mind would want to see Toyota "downsize" a car?
A new Supra must have an I6 or more cylinders. That's it. And considering Toyota's moronic streak, that will come with Scion badges, too. |

This is kind of the opposite of the Scion thing. In this case, up-branding a Mini for wider market appeal. Hmm, branding a vehicle so it appeals to MORE people... paying attention Toyota?

OK. May be dowsizing hit only on some luxury car. Japanese sport car was already small, so they will never downsize. |

I6 is long gone dude, thanks mainly to emissions standards. Any new Supra would definitely be at least a V6, but I could easily see Toyota using one of their V8's and slapping a turbo on it.

I'm not saying Toyota should make another one anytime soon, but how does an inline 6 have different emissions than any other layout? (BMW currently uses an L6 3.0L twin turbo...)

I think the main reason given was that V6's allow you to snub the body, lowering the size and weight of said cars, and making it easier to reach emission/MPG standards in Japan. Could be mistaken though, Ichi probably knows better than I do. All I know is that I6's are gone from the Japanese market, and there's nothing we can do about it. And I would totally say Toyota should make another I6. I LOVE I6's, they are by far much better than V6's, imho. Its just sad knowing that it WON'T happen. V6s are only better than I6s for packaging purposes. that's it.
