Absolutely, driver and setup > chassis and horsepower, and I fucking loved the Abarth when I test drove it.

Whoa, monster tires. Anything can be blown out of proportion, but the point was I regularly stick a set of 17x9s in my daily driver for an autocross weekend, is my car no longer streetable because I swap wheels for an event? Is my performance on a closed circuit invalid because I don't drive home on the same tires I set a lap in? I certainly don't think so, many others do the same with this car every weekend.

A good percentage of the cars are running R compounds as well but my observation still stands. I've seen a few low horsepower cars (mostly S2000's and race committed Miata's) with highly skilled drivers (Eric Powell) turning 19's but it's rare. The fact that my car with my limited skills is able to be so close is the only point I'm making. Completely stock, I could barely hit 27's because the grip just wasn't there.

I'm not trying to be a fanboy here, just sharing how much improvement is possible for a small amount of money. As a comparison I've been there with a race prepped E30 2500# and 205whp and run the same times.

i get what you guys are saying. i just dont think its the appropriate response to this guy asking the question. he asks if he can make this car faster than a porsche and then people just tell him to be a better driver or use r comps. anybody asking this kind of question is not going to be a great driver or looking into using r compounds.

Any other videos of that 86 vs cayman comparo?

Apparently I made some friction between Porsche owners and FRS/BRZ owners including a mustang owner, and a Camaro owner. And a Fiat owner????

As being the OP person, this is a GOAL, and asked if it was possible. Spending all that money is a fools man yes. But, I owned a turbo Supra, SC MR2, an IS350, a turbo AE86, LT1 Camaro and even a German 16V Scrocco. Did I spell that right? The AE86 was my fav. The reason I bought this car was nostalgia. I loved that car, and I do now love my FRS. Oh BTW, I still own the Supra.

If I have to spend all that money to make possible, then yes. It's all about how much more power in your car, or better at the track, and loving your car to make better.

BTW2. I bought the JSRC (JRSC) Waiting for it to available. Back order. On my way!!

Sorry to be that guy but take driving lessons. If there's any way a twin could beat the 718 S it would be based on the relative skill of the drivers. Bonus: you'd have actual bragging rights and money left over to buy your friend a beer

Handling, quite easy to surpass 718S.

To be faster in a straight line reliably would be a lot more difficult.
