If you park by the curb only 1 car can go beside you
Hence the 50% |

Plot twist, you're the culprit or a friend of the culprit checking in on the forum hoping someone would post about it in order to get updates.

Solution to your problem:
Park the car, and never, ever under any circumstances ever drive it again. Reality of the problem: There are shitty people everywhere. Good thing you have insurance. |

That sucks. Had it happen to me on my previous car. It was parked in front of my house and the neighbour across the street backed into it and took off. My dashcam caught the plate and I payed them a visit the next day.
I hate the fact that I park away from everyone with a ton of open spots and come back to my car to see someone has parked beside me. Could you not have parked somewhere else? |

I park in the widest opening as close to my destination that I can find. The average car door opens at about 30 inches so if I can find a spot close to that on each side that is where I park. No guarantees that those cars won't pull out and others come in closer but it reduces the odds of getting dinged by a little.
I gave up on the concept of curb or end parking in a lot several years ago after witnessing a spectacular parking lot accident. Since parking lots are designed to keep traffic slow and fit the most cars into the smallest area the rows are not always even and sometimes can be very odd. I watched an 80 year old woman in a Buick (of course) drive straight into the back of a brand new BMW at about 40kph. It was one of those odd shaped lots where the rows were sort of staggered and he picked the end thinking he was safe. She was totally baffled why that car was in the middle of the driving lane. You can get hit no matter where you park.

Your right about them agreeing it's no fault but if I had another accident and it wasn't my fault either, my yearly premium would still go up a significant amount. Insurance is in business to make money, they could care less about us |
