Very Sad Day...

On Thursday June 2 I was working at Square One and was parked at the very end of Wal-Mart (where no cars were and end the very end of the parking lot) from 4:30-9:30. I was walking to my car and saw a strange note on the front telling me that some lady in a GMC Envoy license plate: BBNR 953 had hit my car. Thankfully someone had seen it and was nice enough to let me know. Im going to the police station as we speak. For anyone who goes to Square, I highly recommend parking at one of the top lot's like the one beside the Bay.

In the end, i'm thankful that no one got hurt but it just really sucks. What's even worse is that the person who hit it (which I still have no idea how as there were ZERO cars near me couldn't care less and just left the seen). One of my Rotiform rims was scratched as well too. Guess I have a good excuse to get my Valenti taillights sooner than expected :party0030:

Here's a picture of the damage :(http://i613.photobucket.com/albums/t...psu5nxsors.jpg

Really glad someone left you that note! A hit and run is not gonna be pretty for the person who hit you, and should get you fixed up like new in no time. Best of luck!

StraightOuttaCanadaEh 06-02-2017 09:41 AM

Wow what the hell. People should really stop with the whole hit and run thing already, but it is mississauga lol. Hope you get her fixed up soon!

Glad someone left a note with all the details. I hope she gets fixed up soon!

I'm not sure if the police will run the plate for you but you can always pay 20$ at Service Ontario and get the owner's name.

Fuck dude! Sorry to see this.

The silver lining is that most of the damage looks to be on parts that are easily replaceable (bumper, tail-lights etc.), and there's not a lot of damage on the unibody itself.

Weird thing is I had a very similar situation at Square One years ago when I worked there, but I was on the other end of the rope. I had just gotten into my car and was sitting there on my phone before leaving, and I looked up just in time to see a lady in an SUV back into a parked Mercedes. She got out to look at the damage, but based on her body language, I could tell she was going to book it. Sure enough, I saw her start to get back into her car and put her seat-belt on. So I RAN over and blocked her car and told her I witnessed the whole thing, and took a picture of her plate in the process. I basically forced her to leave a note, and as a secondary measure, I left my info as well just in case any of the information she provided was false.

Motherfuckers, man. I used to always park on the second floor of the parking garage across from Walmart when I worked at Square One, at the very back.

Brutal dude

Thankfully you got the note so everything should get sorted out rather quickly. I've always parked as far away from everyone as possible and it didn't end up saving me either. Ill never figure out why there can be 400 available spaces and somebody needs to park right beside the car at the end of the lot.

I'm torn between parking far away now or right at the front door where there is more likely to be cameras.

You deserve a medal man

This happened to me as well last month! I was parked at Entrance 1 very top level, which is employee parking.

Left for 20 mins and went back to grab my phone. Came back to fender and bumper damage as well as a scuffed rim. $2500 worth of damage. Sucked cause it was on a brand new Inazuma too..

As square one management I can tell you right now, the cameras outside are absolute SHIT. The only decent cameras as of right now are under Holt Renfew parking and at Entrance 1 on the ramps going up. Honestly dude, it's gonna happen anywhere and I strongly recommend a motion detecting dash cam. There are constant complaints involving damaged cars in the parking lots.

Hey guys, wanted to give everyone a quick update.

I went to the station this morning and was there for about an hour. I filed a police report but to be honest, it didn't seem like they cared very much unfortunately. They kept telling me that if they go to the scene and no one admits to it, they can't do anything? I contacted the company that was on the note that was left on my car but it must of just been a random sticky note the person had as it was a large company and no one knew anything about the incident. I left the station to go to work and talked to my managers. My head managers good friend is a cop in Mississauga. After speaking with him over the phone he was pretty upset with how the Police I spoke to treated the situation. I spoke with two different divisions over the phone and they said they are going to go to the address of the car that hit me and see if they confess. I told them that they are going to find my red paint all over they're car and that charges should definitely be made.

At the end of the day, I think I am going to be out the money $1500 including my new Valenti Tails ;) which sucks but I really didn't want to put it through my insurance as even though I have a clean record, i'm a young driver and my rates will still go up a lot. I hope the lady gets charged even though i'm most likely going to be out the money.

Lastly, I tried to get the Police to call her on the spot but they said there was no number associated with the plate, just the address (which I found really weird). Thanks to everyone for helping me out with their advice, I really appreciate it. Im getting it fixed on Tuesday and it should be all done by Wednesday night.

By the way, if anyone is down for a cruise sometime in Sauga let me know by messaging me on here or on my Insta at: maxw_31

Take care and thanks again

What insurance company are you with? My situation was almost exactly the same, except no note. My damage was a hit and run as well and because I'm 0% at fault, not in the parked car at the time, my premium won't go up on annual renewal. I find it so odd they would increase your rates considering it's completely not your fault, regardless of your age
