The key word is "unmarried". You'll need to be certain the previous owner unmarried OFT from their car. Also make make sure they have the OBD2 cable, plus the mini USB cable so you can update the OTS maps.

Thank you for that, besides taking their word at face value, is there a visual setting that they show you on the tablet that shows its unmarried?

Yes there is. I can't think of which screen it is (I'm also stuck at work), yet hopefully another person can chime in.

You're correct. The same map applies & you don't need to reflash.

I recommend crusing at highway speeds for about 100 miles with the cruise control set, so the ECU will learn faster. Otherwise, it'll take about a tank of the same gas with normal around town driving.

ended up installing catless fp w/out resonator, anyhow...

along with a k&n filter, is it worth the jump to ecutek and have it custom tuned if i stay NA? never dyno'd it so idk where it currently sits, and idk how much ecutek will gain.

You can get custom tunes with oft as well as ecutek.

Theoreticly on an NA car you will get same results with oft or ecutek with a conpetent tuner.

Cusrom tuning on NA cars often yeilds very little gains.

Just log you tune check the fueling mainly, if your fuel trims are fairly low 5% anc you afr and commanded afr are close duribg wot, then custom runing is going to yeild you very little if your on 93 fuel.

Hi all,
New to the forum thing and am not here for a good reason sadly.. I received an open flash tablet today and plugged it in asap. I chose the stage 1 stock tune and followed the steps to the tee, and got to the last part where it says turn off ignition and then turn engine on and let idle for 45 secs.. however the car ticked over for 1 sec and gave up. I tried to start it again and got no response, so naturally i sh*t my pants and reflashed back to the original file and tried to start it again and the car didnt start.. i tried to start it a couple of times and the battery seemed to be getting flat as the air con wouldnt turn on nor could i lock the car via key fob.
Ive emailed open flash but i live in australia so im not expecting a reply for awhile, can anyone give me some troubleshooting advice!? Stressing hardcore.

Cheers
Mac

If the oft communicated with car ecu its likely the flash was sucessfull and your ecu is fine

Id say you may have a battery problem. Put a charger on battery and see if the car will start.

Its not good to flash cars with low or suspect batterys but i think your ok.

Have a read of link below

If your ecu flash failed the car would not even try to start, and if ecu was bricked the oft would complain about being unable to talk to ecu.

I think its jist flat battery hopefully if your a 2013 car on original battery it was probavly on its last legs

Any chance there will be a 93 octane map for EU-cars like there is for US?

For my particular car (ZA1J700I) there is only one Stg2 UEL-map available. I'm guessing its for 91, i always fill up with 93 regardless, and it would be nice to unlock the extra power.

Did you let the battery charge all the way before you flashed?
