I didn't want to mention names, but since you said about Cosworth they are saying that peak gains of the header is 5hp on the crankshaft (stage 1.2 -> 1.3). How much do you think they get on the wheels? 3-4whp? I agree that on the middle rev range there are more gains, but from my point of view the main reason to market a header was to prepare going forward with the S/C.

Not sure where your getting that info ? But they are claiming way more than that http://www.cosworth.com/products/pow...package-range/ However their stuff is way overpriced, and i actually flashed a cosworth tune for a guy last week and i wasnt very impressed with the level of knock logged on our fuels in the real world |

nikitopo: there is one BUT. Performance gains from bolt-on mods are not cumulative and one soon hits diminishing gains NA. I'm sure that header installed alone, without rest of bits, would still net most gains from single component. So those +5hp are arguable.

Haha not my customer was just helping the guy out, we were running the 95 map on 98 fuel and still -2 knock iam 0.8 and i could actually hear it knocking in the 3000 area if gou accelerated for the price they sgould offer revisions. It locked tune so no access. The header produces its best gains in midrange where you drive most of the time, id be more concerbed with that than peak gains for 90% of people. True peak gains are limited but header was last mod, in header and tune first up would have produced better gains. Coosworth do give you all the NA tunes when you buy the initial pack at least thats one consession. But from what i saw they need to offer revisions for different countries fuels The tune adds timing and leans fueling |

I think unfortunately, that the header purchase usually comes after money is wasted on other mods. Its funny how much deliberation is spent on headers while useless catbacks and intakes fly off the shelves.

Probably because most people know catbacks are just noise makers and don't need a lot research into which is the "best".
