Congrats! DGM looks fantastic. You've now got a pair of atypical Subaru's in your driveway, which is awesome.

Enjoy

Cool! How does the BRZ engine compare to the SVX's? Is the SVX 6 cylinder smoother still or is the BRZ smoother since it's more modern?

Gratz! The Rally Blue one was mine. I backed out of it in the end (going with the FR-S). I applied 2 miles to the car :P

Thanks guys...the SVX is quite a different car -- very fun to drive, but definitely feels a lot heavier, quieter on the inside and more "luxury". The engine used to be super smooth, but I'm working on resolving a little bit of a rough idle that developed a few years ago -- I think new engine mounts are in order (liquid filled --so they cost $500).

Steering on the BRZ is much tighter, suspension much tighter, and the automatic is a whole lot smoother (SVX is known for transmission issues -- I rebuilt mine 50K miles ago). I also have a Subaru XT6 (parked in storage right now), and it was one of the first cars with electronic steering -- not as tight as the BRZ, but nice and precise like the BRZ. I'd say overall the XT6 feels closer to the BRZ than the SVX -- lighter, lower to the ground, but not nearly as powerful an engine as either car.

BTW, once I dialed in the tone settings on the nav/radio it's not too bad -- but definitely doesn't compare in features to the top end Pioneer units. I just put a Pioneer AVIC 140BH in my Baja and thought the BRZ nav would be comparable, but the features are much more limited in their tweakability as far as I can tell, and the screen is not as large or as nice. Didn't think I would consider replacing the built-in Nav, but now I'm thinking it could happen some day.

I was very conflicted about the color. Have always bought blue cars, and thought "I've got to try something else besides blue", so I went for the DGM, and then sort of wished I'd gotten the blue. Buyer's remorse I guess. But then once I laid my eyes on the actual cars, I was very happy with my choice, especially with putting the chrome accents on the fenders.

Hang in there! Definitely the chrome trim looks nice on the car in that color, and the rear underskirt looks nicer than I expected, but is not clear coated as far as i could tell at quick glance. I'm in NY this week so won't be able to drive mine for a whole week. Only had the ride home from the dealer and a quick trip that evening to the drugstore.
