First BRZ delivered in SoCal...

Picked up my new DGM BRZ Limited at 2pm today from Irvine Subaru and drove it home....they told me I was the very first BRZ to be delivered in Southern California.

There were two others sitting on the lot, a White and a Rally Blue.

Though my paperwork said there was 6 miles on the odometer, when I turned the car on, there were actually 22. Glad I was able to pick it up right away or it might have been worse...:)

The digital readout on the dash was set to Km, and Desiree, who sold me the car, told me their guy was out that day training on the car, so they were learning the car as they went along in the meantime.

We should all have a clause in the contract to be reimburse every mileage the dealer incur on our car.

Or they were giving other buyers test drives in it...:sigh:

Lets hope that didn't happen.

How do you feel about having your car used as the dealership's training tool? What kind of training could they possibly do on it anyway?

Congrats!!!

On a side note, I have never ever purchased a brand new car with 22 miles on the clock. I think we already know the deal with that one.

BTW, you paid MSRP correct? Since you were in on the pre-order?

Congratulations. The SWP is mine.

i like how every dealer claims its "the first one"

sesmls 05-24-2012 10:50 PM

Yes, that's true...Pacific Subaru was claiming they had the first BRZ in CA their showroom when Irvine Subaru had it weeks earlier. I do believe though that this was the first one that Irvine Subaru delivered, and yes, I was a little surprised and dismayed that there were 22 miles on the car...:) I'm heading to NY for a week for my son's college graduation (he's getting my '95 Subaru SVX Lsi as a graduation present -- I get the BRZ as a replacement). I certainly didn't want the car sitting there all week...there probably would have been well over 100 miles on it...:)

SO, when are you coming to pick me up and hit some canyons up here in Malibu?

My new BRZ with my SVX (soon to be my son's SVX) behind it:

BRZ by itself:

Finally, with my 2005 Baja Turbo in bkg:

BTW, I did pay MSRP for it...added chrome fender trim, homelink compass, and rear underskirt. Irvine Subaru has been a pretty hassle-free buying experience for me -- never been in and out of a dealership quicker.

Damn that's cool! Is that DGM or Black?

eblamble3 05-24-2012 11:41 PM

That color looks great...and the chrome fender trim actually looks good with it
