New Supra at the top end to compete with Corvette/Cayman, 86GT in the middle (left pretty much alone, e.g. no turbo), and new MR2 at the bottom of the lineup, around $20K.
Supra as BMW&Toyota child? What will it be? Reliable BMW or unteliable Toyota?

If BMW throws their engine engineering in, than I would stay clear from that car.

Ehhhhhhh.... I'd say just a ball park figure of mark up over current msrp would suffice, i.e 34k compared to a regular stock trim. Most people don't really care about the tariffs and cost of nut over bolts etc.

I think it was possible to get a base 86 without the LSD in some countries, but all 86s made in North America came with a LSD IIRC.

Why would anybody buy a car like twins without LSD?
I think you need to re-read what you just wrote.

The FR-S was only available as a Scion.
The Scion FR-S was only available with a Torsen LSD.

What? J/K.

You have a semblance of a point. Power plant in the Supra hasn't been leaked yet. Hopefully it will be 100% Toyota. But I wouldn't bet on it.

Anyways, riddle me this? Does anyone know what the estimated cost increase would be to put the current wrx turbo 2.0 in the brz/frs would possible be theoretically?
There's obviously some mathletes that could take a stab at it.

Why do you all insist on having that stupid turbo? lmafo once you reach over 100K they require quite a lot of attention down the road.

I'll bet it has a B58 in it to please Supra fanbois and they'll bitch and moan it's not a Toyota engine despite the fact that Toyota hasn't sold an I6 in like a decade.

Kinda like how all the Toyota fanboi's for this car bitch about the Subaru flat 4 despite the fact that it's been a long time since Toyota had a good I4.

I don't know, I think there's a few companies actively not pursuing the small displacement DI turbo trend: Mazda, BMW, Toyota off the top of my head. They're not stupid, in fact Mazda was one of the pioneers of the technology, but they've turned away from it.

If you're deeply cynical, the fact that Fiat, Ford, and now Chevy are actively pushing that technology might be a red flag.

Good luck, don't get me wrong, I get it, I'm a hopeless romantic too (I like Wankels) but prepare for a BMW engine in Toyota's next "sportscar"
