The SFR concept still pops up now and then but only Toyota knows for sure what they will do with it (if anything at all).
Sound is subjective. I personally love the sound of a boxer and greatly prefer it over a V6 or straight 4.

It is coming together. First drive slated for late June

Honestly I'd like to see just a small displacement bump even a better AT with more aggressive programming.

Engine downsizing is the current trend.

Not anymore! Most manufacturers are increasing engine displacement for the next generation models, as the tiny high stress turbo motors have been shown to increase NOx emissions to almost diesel-like levels. Regulations on NOx emissions are tightening up around the world. It's no longer enough to look at just CO2, which linearly correlates to gas mileage. Nox emissions do not scale linearly with gas mileage, they increase due to higher cylinder pressures and leaner AFRs.

And will be until electrics take over. Things like the Demon are the exception now not the rule. As the world (it isn't just California like so many believe) tighten up emission controls the engines will get smaller and the power levels will drop. The long climb to 400hp family sedans is starting on the down slope whether we like it or not. The only hope is that they can continue to get more power with fewer emissions out of smaller and smaller engines. Just thirty years ago the idea of 200hp out of a NA engine was totally laughable and science fiction.

Our views are on the opposite ends of the spectrum!

We shall see.

Just saw how elaborated my last post got in terms of sales LOL :o

Anyways, riddle me this? Does anyone know what the estimated cost increase would be to put the current wrx turbo 2.0 in the brz/frs would possible be theoretically?
There's obviously some mathletes that could take a stab at it.

You mean the actual cost of the parts or the costs in recertifying the vehicle in any country that it will be sold, the changes in tariffs and import fees it would cost, the increased costs in production and assembly to hold yet anther engine in stock, the engineering costs required to ensure that the rest of the car can take it or any of the other hundred or so costs that people don't know about?

So why does adding the turbo only add wheels and tires on one side of the car?

According to those numbers, the FRS sold WAY more than the BRZ in NA, like, right around double, every year.
I think FRS was aways with LSD option available, but scion wasnt.

Why would anybody buy a car like twins without LSD?
