OK, I see that after clicking the link. The guy you quoted, with the Type 2 face +42 wheels says he has 4mm of clearance with -1.5 camber and 225/40 tires.

+45 is 3mm closer to the spring/strut compared to the +42. So, If you do not add camber and get the same width tire, then yes probably. Judging from what the above posts have described. Also, a 3mm slip spacer would help if it was too close.

No the guy in the link with +45 (blue car) says he is not running with any camber. the +42 guy is (lava color).

I'm assuming different brands offsets and widths are different because i see some running +45 on stock suspension with no issue and some other brands it doesnt work or maybe they have the wrong width etc.

The type II face is better with +42. Offsets are usually very accurate, between wheels and manufactures.

Confused myself. What I said is correct, but you don't want the +45, so the information in the second paragraph was irrelevant. Sorry.

Before camber bolts went on I had a mountain of clearance - about 10mm from memory, so -1.5deg neg camber @ that wheel height made quite a difference for me. +45 will push the inner mounting face further out towards the exterior of the car which means the inner wheel clearance will increase by 3 mm compared to what I have so expect 7mm inner wheel clearance on 0 camber = easy fit on stock suspension.

thanks. do you have pics of this from behind and near fender of front and back to show the flush situation? i'm seriously thinking of getting these and want to know if best to get the square or staggered set up. i'll have trd springs monday and most likely wont mess with camber. are the 42s the only ones with the type 2 face?

Eibach camber bolts up front set to -1.5deg camber, rear is about -1deg camber & -1.5mm toe in using SPC LCA. Eibach ProKit on an otherwise stock strut.

Inner wheel/tyre clearance is 4mm up front - wheel no chance of touching, tyre is 4mm away but after a few thousand k's driving there's no rubbing anywhere.

Edit: Forgot to mention weight:

OEM 17x7 wheel/Primacy tyre = 18.7kg (virtually new tyre)
RAYS wheel/ContiSport5 new tyre = 18.8kg

Hey I just bought the same wheel 18x8.5 + 42 offset, I was just wondering if your using hub centric rings on your setup? if so, can you tell me the spec pls.

Last question, do you think I'll rub on stuck suspension if I did 235/40 tire or should I stay with 225/40 tire?
