ahaha! I asked the Fiancée help get the rod bolts out, so she held one side. She had to stand on the crank, with the rod just right, so I could pretty much lay on the impact to get the rod bolts out. The heads (of the bolts) were destroyed with the metal flying around. Didn't think they were coming out.

Yeah she likes helping most of the time.

Got the Hood pins, and the transmission tunnel heat wrap (No picture as I was in the middle of welding my brothers core support back on his car)

Also - Just got something about 5 minutes ago....

Hood pins and you're planning to remove the latch right and run the intake straight through to the front somehow?

Bout time on the transmission!

Yes. Run the intake with a 45 off the throttle body and straight behind the bumper. Looking for a good filter now.

Thinking about this one:

edit: Transmission comes in AND the mounts were shipped out. Today is going well so far.

Looking through to see what fluid to run (as the sticker on the side said Dextron III ATF). The Magnum XL does in fact use ATF Fluid. Will run Mobil 1 For break in, then most likely switch to Amsoil

Didn't get a lot done over the weekend unfortunately. Got the engine mounts off, still need to grind down the spot welds, and the long weld at the bottom. Engine bay is filthy again because of the rain/pollen. I really need a garage haha

I also tore into the wiring harness to try and hide the large engine harness at the back of the bay. It's proving to be difficult as I didn't want to cut anything.

Did a bit more work last night. Got the e85 out of the tank. Drilling the spot welds sucked. I only got one side off of the trans mounts.

Got the old FA20 Engine harness tucked into the cabin. What I giant pain.

Now to try and find where to put the wires...

Had the day off work yesterday and spent the day getting everything ready for sliding the engine/transmission in.

(both were painted black while we prepped the engine)

Now some things I didn't like. No instructions, and no details on exactly where you needed to position the mounts. They are pretty self explanatory, but knowing for sure would have been nice. The mounts don't sit flat, and there was a bit of wiggle room, even with the small bolt at the bottom in. Oh and the 4 bolts with silver washers go on the trans mount bracket. The gold washers go into the body. Didn't notice until I was double checking everything -_-

Engine brackets were easy. Though there is a bit of wiggle room so I left the bolts a little loose so they could be moved to get the engine in.

other issues. Normal LS starter hits bell housing. Bell housing needs ground down. Seems a lot of people are having this issue. Needs to be fixed

Also. Header was warped pretty bad, bolting it down should help, but not what I expected for such a well known company. The driver side also directly hits the steering shaft, so that will need modified.

On the getting the engine and transmission in.

Let my friend borrow my leveler and forgot to get it back before we started this. Not too big of an issue because the radiator and everything is gone, so it's only a slight angle needed.

All was decently okay, nothing out of the usual for putting in a large engine/transmission until around the end. Using Vorshlags images as they are good quality.

*in this image you can see you need to cut a lot of the shifter hole to fit the top of the tremec shifter* - forgot to point out in picture

In this picture, I always assumed they meant for sway bar... Not that is for steering rack. The sway bar cannot be run with the GTO front sump pan, with the Vorshlag mounts. So the Vorshlag sway bar fix will need to be purchased whenever they can get that figured out.

I am sure I will find more things to clearance when I get to look at it again tonight. Also the pedal! Looks like Vorshlag was able to use stock pedal mount, but I am going to have to cut the studs off and make a new plate to mount mine.

Edit: Forgot the good shot

Looks great! Does it look like there will be any other spacing issues?

Way too much. I am stuck with this car for life at this point haha - into the engine swap over $20k. Most of that was the engine though.
