How are the W2's on the street do they squeal?

Not squeal but squeak when they are cold, more pronounced in the winter but not annoying just noticeable. They do need a few long not hard stops to get to 100% bite when cold like 40 Deg F. and lower. Much more brake dust so thats somewhat annoying to me but worth it in the long run. I'll buy them again. Also I flushed with higher temp fluid.

I'm only kidding myself, if I wanted to put $5-6,000 into my brand new car I should have bought a 2016 Camaro SS from the get go. I just have to remind myself of that from time to time why I bought this car.

I have a different line of thinking than you. I would much rather have a FR-S that is as fast as a Camaro SS as long as it will be reliable. Everyone has mustangs and camaro's. I like to be different. Besides the twins are better looking unless you get a special edition car.

Can't argue with you there... on paper I like the mustangs and camaros for what they are, but they are a dime a dozen. And nowadays people are afraid you are gonna mow them down at car meets...lol. I do like the uniqueness of driving a BRZ, especially a Bright Yellow one! The BRZ was purchased as my gateway into FR sports cars. We'll see what the future holds for my sports car life. Buts a helluva start.

If money was no object I would definitely drop a LS3 into the car and keep the whole thing looking as stock as possible. Imagine lining up next to a corvette and smoking them. lol Just dreams

Is there any difference between GT86 and the BRZ that makes any of them the better choice? Price is lower on BRZ here in Sweden atleast.

What are the first mods to be doing? Exhaust, brakes, wheels, coils?

I don't want massive wings and bolts everywhere , i want a clean build so i don't think Rocket bunny stuff is for me. Some attachment to the front and back spoiler and a smaller wing is ok.

When it comes to power i would like to go the Cosworth path because the warranty, good enough or will it be to weak you think? I still want a reliable car.

Appreciate all the inputs from you all.
Do you have any previous track experience?

Track experience, goals (ultimate lap times, driver education, wheel to wheel racing, daily driveability, etc), budget, and rules/laws are basically what helps to dictate a track car build. From there you pick a tire and come up with a plan.

If you're searching for more power get a faster car (350Z, 370Z), dont spend alot of money for a little bit of power and a lot of headache.

The twin is a momentum light weight RWD Japanese sport car.
I think many people underestimate this.

Tracking my car actually made me spend less money on mods. Tires, pads, and maintenance is where I kept it. It was hard to justify spending money on parts when I was keeping up with or passing up dudes with suspension and engine mods (super duper fun). Not to mention, I still have lots of improving to do as a driver. <--This is the part that a lot of people have trouble accepting, and try to mask it with unnecessary mods. However, I understand both ends of it. Different strokes I guess...Get out there and have fun

Almost none experience. Went to a course couple a years ago but nah, almost nothing.

Im the kind of person that if I'm going to start running ill get the best pair of shoes i can get for money If its something that should make me go slow its my physic cause thats what I'm running for to improve.

But here i should prolly go stock from start and learn the car and handling but still, its a lot of fun to improve something and make the car look better so little something here and there i think i would go with anyway.

Se that is the key word. You may not be "improving" anything by modding without experience. Just because you add an aftermarket part does not mean it was better than stock. Since your title states DD and track you need to keep in mid that every change you make has to be a compromise of some sort to keep the car usable for both. What is best for one may not be for the other.

If you want some modding fun then stick to the cosmetics at least until you learn the car. since cosmetic mods are subjective to taste you can go to town and change whatever you want regardless of track or DD.

Same. Dunno why everyone screams for more power. Though, the electric supercharger is still on my list, and will most likely buy one when I have the chance
