Some douche hit my car in a shopping center parking lot today and did not leave any insurance info. I immediately called my insurance and went to a body shop I have used before. They quoted me $1,700 for repair costs.

Don't stress it will come back like nothing ever happened. My car was done well at the end. I'm trying to tell where they cut but I can't see anything unless I get under the car and see the difference in the panel color from the other side.

Get ready to wait like 2 weeks though. Mine took a month

Jesus Christ 19 hours on body??? That's 10 hours body+paint. I could literally have that done and ready to be picked up the same day

Thank you man, they quoted me 5 days to fix. I have a $500 deductible i am willing to pay to get this fixed. I just absolutely dread stuff like this happening specially when I try to take precious care of everything I have.

To be honest I think they may just be running up the price because they know I will be going through my insurance company. I have a $500 deductible and I highly doubt any shop will do it for less than that but I am getting a quote from a few other highly rated body shops in my area.

Yea that's basically it. Honestly, you could've put hot water on it and used a plunger and lived with the damage but it hurts to see that everyday when u walk out to it in the morning

Almost the exact thing happened to me back in February when I was moving my car from one winter storage location to another and decided to stop for 45 minutes and visit a buddy I hadn't seen in months. His retarded neighbour backed out of his driveway straight into my car...

Anyways, the repair was appraised at $3800. They didn't replace the quarter panel, just bent it back to shape, and repainted the whole panel. The bumper needed all the clips replaced and then was repainted as well. The frame itself wasn't bent, but it did have a dent, nothing could be done about that though.

The final product isn't perfect, There's a slight gap between the bumper and panel and the fit isn't 100%. Most people wouldn't notice though. all the more reason for wide body down the road.
