After 2.5 hours of elbow grease
Hi all. took these this morning after applying the turtle wax Black box formula designed for black cars. Very labor intensive but definatley worth it.

Looks great. I did the same thing today. Cleaned up and waxed, the Ultramarine really "pops" in the sunlight. I noticed water in my reverse lights while I was waxing the rear bumper this afternoon. Take a look at yours when you get a chance, and see if your car has the same issue.

Just kidding...Nice photo Mike -- "Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of FR-S" Three days since the delivery and I'm up to almost 600 km. My new favorite road near Calabogie -- from near the town of Hope to Lavant on the South Lavant Road. The last half features lots of tight curves and rises, a real rollercoaster ride. The road continues on but I was running out of time and had to turn around. And enjoy it going the other way. There's the occasional patch of gravel or sand on the road just to keep you on your toes. Happy Canada Day all! |

Just got back from Silver Lake camping for a few days. Saw about 30 Miata heading east on Highway 7, probably looking for those nice roads Paul was talking about. I've done that drive, and it is great.
Btw, here's some pics of camping and the FR-S. I packed 4 tents, 4 chairs, cooler and luggage in the FR-S, plus my 2 kids!!! |

Five days after picking up the FR-S, I'm at 925 km. Should be good to go for the Solo2 event on Saturday. I got the sticky tires put on today and was surprised how they took the edge off smaller bumps and cracks in the road. Since the Kumho XS's are intended for autocross etc I thought the carcass would be stiffer and the ride might suffer. But the opposite seems to be true. Perhaps since the OEM Michelins are designed for low rolling resistance, that includes minimizing sidewall flex and as a result they are harsher? Dunno. I also involuntarily participated in an emergency braking test. Out near Barrhaven I was behind a Celica which jammed on the brakes when a deer bolted across the road! >whew< Last edited by Klinn; 07-04-2012 at 10:17 PM. |

So I went out to M&M's for a bit and met up with Paul (Raven), Brian (Hot Lava) and Mike from Mendes with the FR-S Raven AT demo car. Good to meet up again, even if it was short.
Was good to meet Brian with his new Hot Lava, looks nice! Supposed to check out the site and sign up. Still tons of interest in the car, lots of people asking questions, taking pics and just hanging around for a better look. |

![]() Had lots of fun at the Solo2 event today. The car was great to thread through the cones, even if it does have slightly less torque than my Vette. It was stiffer than I expected and seemed to dance a little over small high-frequency bumps. But from what I recall, it rolls noticeably less than my Miata I ran 3 years ago. Maybe that was partly because of the stiffness, and maybe partly because of the low roll center. Lots of interest in the car by other folks at the event. |
