Quietest summer tire that fits OEM/PP wheels?
Tirerack chat is closed for a few days. I would ask them this.
But, they do not carry a few brands, and this question is an attempt to scan the most obscure tire to normal one. Nokian Z line summer performance seems like a good option. Desires: wet and dry handling Crap roads so: noise and comfort really important So long as it handles better than the stock primacy hp whatevers, I would be happy. I hope it would have medium durability/longevity. I have had some quiet grippy cheap tires that wore out too quick. Not too picky though here, just nothing extreme. Problem is review sites discuss comparisons of a certain type, and I doubt they are comparing a Grand Touring to a Ultra Summer for the noise/comfort factor. Keeping the PP brz rims. |

Michelin Pilot Super Sports have very good performance for DD purposes, and they are pretty quiet for the performance of the tire. Michelin also has a 30,000 mile limited warranty on the tires that they pro-rate the cost for replacements if you wear them down before that time.
Also the Continental ExtremeContact DW is a pretty good summer tire thats quiet and reasonably sticky. |

I thank you for your reply.
I am interested in Noise and comfort first, second performance. The performance being notably better wet and dry than OEM tires, but nothing exceptional needed. those pilot sports are best in class and I hear that they are not particularly as smooth sounding or compliant with bad roads as some. |

To me anyway they were moderately less noisy and more comfortable than the Primacy tires, but you are only going to get a small level of improvement out of any tire that remains relatively low profile. They are also have significantly better grip.

When I had T1 Sports they were outstanding in the rain. However, they were not particularly quiet in 245/40.
