No im pretty sure the Firestorm FR-S was indeed MT. I also put down a refundable deposit on one at Lustine about 2 weeks ago. I originally wanted white but when I was told there was a red one coming in I began to want red more. I too got the call yesterday but I was told the red one sold right before I got there so I just decided to test drive the Asphalt AT they had since I havent test driven one yet. Needless to say Im getting my deposit back and looking elsewhere

Then they lied to me as well, they told me, very explicitly, that all the ones they had in were AT's.

As the saying goes, "fool me once, shame on..."

I wouldn't even give them a thought. I'm sure there will be more coming in at other dealerships. Just be a little more patient.

There were Scions in Japan for the press to demo but I don't believe those shouldn't have been for sale. They normally destroy them.

THIS is true - I totally forgot, but not one Rep from TOYOTA is going to roll around ~2000 miles in a foreign car with less features than what they are actually selling

It's possible since Japan got the car months before the rest of the world got it. It is rare (liability reasons) that they try and sell it though, most of them get crushed or stay as a company car.

Pretty much. I was talking w National Manager Field Operation of Scion and all the demo cars cannot be sold. They need to be crushed w proof pics and send em to Toyota (JP).

haha wow so basically they lied to all three of us...who knows how many others too. Lustine has no dignity and probably just see customers as walking commission and don't pay any regard to the promises they make.

I am finishing up summer classes at virginia tech and went to work calling places this morning. Found a brz an hour away (who would've guessed SW virginia) that was pretty pricey but perfect. I put a deposit down and they were pretty much appalled at my story about the FR-S. Needless to say this one is definitely mine... I think it looks a alittle better than the fr-s imo. Goodluck to everyone else getting theirs and I wouldn't recommend taking your business to Lustine unless you camp out for a couple weeks on their lawn waiting for delivery.

I was lucky to find my FR-S down here in C-burg. The local Subaru dealer had only 1 BR-Z and it was spoken for well before it arrived. Congrats on the car though, I took my FR-S through campus today.

If you bring the BRZ back to the area check out Route 8 out past C-burg and 42 off of 460. Also off of 460 toward WV is Mountain Lake Road, take that up to before the hotel and take a left and head down Doe Creek Rd back to 460. All are pretty fun roads I used to take my street bike on and plan to take the FR-S out on.
