Somebody's gotta say it..

Just making an observation.. not hatin' on anyone in the slightest...

but...

would this thread really have this much activity if it was called,

"Old fat bald guy and his 86, R6, and Muay Thai?"

Carry on...

Probably not. I think old fat bald guys are seen driving fast/fun/modded cars more than blondes. I know they're definitely seen more often on motorcycles than blondes. So instead of getting offended by the "you're a girl" sexist comments I turn the blonde stereotype it into a positive.

I'm an equal opportunity forum responder. If someone's post amuses/interests me I will leave a "Thanks" and/or post a response. I've definitely commented on a number of the different build threads here over the years, as long as they are personally interesting or inspiring to me.

Honestly I don't really give a fuck about someone gender or age. I've met plenty of male car enthusiasts off this forum, some that I still text with and hang out with regularly.

I was just thinking last night that as a "build thread" the recent posts here may be considered going slightly "off topic", but then I thought it was cool because it's all about sharing ideas and finding new directions to take your car in.

I can't imagine why anyone would care what gender a person is who is doing something they enjoy. It shouldn't matter in the least.. hey, I'm great at crocheting! (straight male, married for 34 years, adrenaline junkie)

My post was more commentary on the "hound" nature of our breed, I guess... lol...

Sorry for a slight drift in the thread subject.. my bad. I probably shouldn't have "thought out loud." No offense intended to ANYONE.

Guys make comments at me all the time about me being a girl, girls can't drive, girls don't know anything about cars, girls can't ride, blah blah blah blah
This log is for Lucy, and Zero (R6). I don't care if it's popular or not. I want opinions, suggestions, and ultimately, a bomb ass car tailored to me and my personality.

Bold = needs to be added to your sig. There's your new catchphrase right there.

LOL I love where this thread has gone. I like to see everyones mods and unique ways of making their car theirs.

Hey for your shift knob/R-lock what did you get and where? I"m having a hard time finding a thread match, and a couple sites I checked into were out of adapter packs.
Chanching diff/trans oil did you notice a difference at all?
I tried a few different aftermarket shift knobs. I don't care for metal knobs so I've been looking for delrin or leather. I finally came across Raceseng, father & son startup that makes some quality parts for our cars. I absolutely love the shift knob I ended up with from them... reverse lockout is also real nice. Their customer service is second to none also, which is huge to me. I am happy to support a small business like theirs - quality all the way around.

Yes, I absolutely did notice a difference in changing the gear fluids. Most have been using Motul, which is probably what I would have used as well but I had a surplus of Royal Purple in my garage - so thats what went in!

That looks super smooth. Did you order from the raceseng home site or like a mod site? I've learned with how much trouble it was to get ahold of my wheels that customer service is so so so so important lol

The shift knob is part of their 'hybrid' line... weighted steel core and a delrin 'cover' (threads onto the 'core'). They offer 2 different style cores with 2 or 3 different covers for each core - and different color choices. They even have a custom area where you can have the core powder coated to almost any color you want. Their R-locks have 4 or 5 standard color choices but also offer custom anodized color choices (aluminum). They pretty much rock! I have the standard Orbiture and the R-Lock in gunmetal.

*I ordered directly from Raceseng* Jarrett is the owner (son) and he is completely hands on.

I've felt the Mtec shift springs, nice subtle difference, I should get some.

What does the clutch spring do?

Wheels&Tires, Caliper Covers, Headers, Revised map and Tune, and smoked side markers all installed yesterday. Also had the trans/diff oil flushed and upgraded to motul. Apparently the trans oil was pretty dirty, even though there's only 13k on the car. That kind of worries me, so I'm going to be keeping a close eye on it.
Up next is the final Dyno tune on Monday. Then we're just waiting for her tail lights to be back in stock along with her fang spoiler.

She sounds amazing. That growl runs deep, real real deep. You can feel it run through your bones type deep.
I hit the highway this morning and opened her up.... I went from 0-100 faster than I ever thought possible from that girl. Open highway (don't worry, radar detector kept me from going to prison), tunes up, heater on my feet, windows 1/2 way down, and cruise. Untouchable, unstoppable. Best feeling in the world. I don't think I can ever get enough of it.

The stock transmission fluid is total and complete garbage. It is always dirty. My car had 14,000 miles on it when I changed it and it looked awful.
